You will be part of a dynamic international team, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance on complex electrical and instrumentation systems within high-impact environments.

Job Summary

As an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical and instrumentation installations and activities. This involves verifying installation practices, performing inspections and tests, reviewing documentation, and ensuring all work complies with applicable codes, standards (e.g., IEC, EN standards, NEK), and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and verify installation of electrical systems, control panels, grounding systems, lighting, cable trays, junction boxes, and related components.
  • Inspect and test instrumentation loops, calibration of transmitters, switches, valves, and control systems.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and regional and international standards (e.g., IEC, NEK, EN, API, ISA).
  • Witness pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including loop checks, insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, and function testing.
  • Review and verify documentation such as Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Calibration Certificates, Red-line drawings, and As-Built documentation.
  • Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with construction teams, client representatives, and third-party inspectors to resolve quality issues.
  • Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports and maintain records of quality assurance documentation.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering (required).
  • Certifications related to QA/QC or Electrical/Instrumentation standards (e.g., IEC, NEK, API, ISA) are advantageous.
  • Certifications such as CompEx, ATEX, or Hazardous Area Inspection (especially relevant for oil & gas roles) are a plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation inspection, preferably on large industrial or oil & gas projects.
  • Proficient in reading electrical, P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, and installation standards.
  • Familiarity with testing instruments (megger, multimeter, calibrator, etc.).

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and solid understanding of E&I standards and regulations relevant to Scandinavia.
  • Ability to accurately interpret drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise reports in English and/or local language (Swedish, Danish, Norwegian).
  • Competence with inspection and documentation software/tools.

Work Environment

  • Field and site-based role; may require working in hazardous, outdoor, or remote environments.
  • May involve rotational or night shifts and extended hours during commissioning/start-up phases.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to local and company safety standards mandatory.

If you are an experienced E&I Inspector ready to take on challenging projects in Scandinavia, we encourage you to join our network and contribute to delivering high-quality results!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
