  • Support regulatory inspections, client audits, internal audits, notifications and presentations.
  • Monitor EHS performance across the Business Unit and provide leadership with relevant KPIs, trends and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement EHS continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support statutory and non-statutory inspections.
  • Identify training and competency requirements across projects and operational teams.
  • Support the development and delivery of EHS training programmes.
  • Provide EHS input into project planning, mobilisation and delivery.
  • Support the development, review and approval of Project Execution Plans, SOPs, RAMS and dynamic risk assessments.
  • Use leading and lagging indicators, data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support health, wellbeing and wider occupational safety programmes.
  • Work closely with construction, engineering, commercial, procurement and project management teams to ensure EHS requirements are integrated into project delivery.
  • Engage with subcontractors and supply-chain partners to maintain strong and consistent EHS standards.
  • Represent Designer Group professionally with clients, project partners, regulatory bodies and local communities.
  • Participate in relevant professional organisations on behalf of Designer Group.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' EHS leadership experience within construction, engineering, M&E or building services environments.
  • A recognised third-level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Recognised professional EHS accreditations or certifications, such as IOSH.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical construction activities and associated risks.
  • Experience supporting complex construction or building services projects.
  • Experience managing, mentoring or coordinating site-based EHS professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
