The posting

We’re looking for a mid- to senior-level Electrical Design Engineer with hands-on experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings and complex commercial facilities. This position is part of an established MEP engineering team in Fort Lauderdale and requires advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

The successful candidate will develop electrical designs and construction documents, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and help deliver accurate, efficient, code-compliant building systems from initial design through construction documentation.

Projects may include high-rise office buildings, condominiums, hotels, airports, municipal facilities, industrial buildings, and other complex structures.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for high-rise commercial buildings, condominiums, hotels, and other large-scale facilities.
  • Prepare electrical construction documents, drawings, layouts, technical details, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform electrical calculations, establish load requirements, select appropriate equipment, and develop system layouts.
  • Apply relevant electrical codes, industry standards, and engineering principles throughout the design process.
  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify potential conflicts and ensure coordinated construction documentation.
  • Work with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and other engineering teams to integrate building systems effectively.
  • Check drawings and project documents for technical accuracy, constructability, completeness, and consistency before issuance.
  • Assist with construction-phase inquiries, technical coordination, and electrical design issues as they arise.
  • Take responsibility for assigned electrical design tasks and deliverables throughout design development and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate with project team members to resolve technical challenges, maintain schedules, and support project delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering or building design experience, preferably with an MEP consulting firm.
  • Demonstrated experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings or complex commercial developments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience with commercial projects such as office buildings, condominiums, hotels, airports, industrial facilities, municipal buildings, or similar structures.
  • Strong understanding of building electrical systems, applicable electrical codes, and engineering design standards.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, electrical, and other MEP construction documents.
  • Practical experience developing electrical designs and preparing construction documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strongly preferred: Previous experience with an MEP consulting firm in South Florida.

Important: Candidates with residential-only electrical design experience will not meet the requirements for this position.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Health insurance options.
  • Retirement plan options.
  • Paid time off.
  • Additional company-sponsored benefits and programs.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
