You will perform electrical testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on switchgear, PDUs, and RPPs to ensure every product meets engineering specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.

*Position is on-site in Williamsburg VA from 7am - 3:30pm EST

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing on low-voltage switchgear, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Remote Power Panels (RPPs), and related power distribution equipment.
  • Verify wiring, torque values, component installation, and product configuration against engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Conduct electrical tests including insulation resistance, continuity, operational, and high-potential (hi-pot) testing to validate product quality and performance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and wiring issues identified during testing and work with production teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and other customer validation activities to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately document test results, quality records, corrective actions, and non-conformance reports.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment including multimeters, insulation resistance testers, hi-pot testers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, process efficiency, and workplace safety.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Power Distribution, Electronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field OR a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an electrical testing, electrical technician, or related role.
  • Experience performing electrical testing, inspection, troubleshooting, or validation activities in a manufacturing, assembly, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using electrical test and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, continuity testers, and hi-pot testers.
  • Understanding of electrical power distribution systems and products, including switchgear, switchboards, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Remote Power Panels (RPPs), or similar equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document test results, inspections, and non-conformance findings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with customers, inspectors, and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NFPA 70E certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Familiarity with electrical power distribution industry standards and compliance requirements, including UL, NEMA, ANSI, NETA, and NFPA 70E, as well as product standards such as UL 891, UL 62368-1, UL 508A, UL 67, UL 1008, UL 1008S, and UL 1558.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
