About The Org
Move for Hunger is a national nonprofit organization that mobilizes transportation networks to deliver surplus food to communities in need. Operating in a remote work environment, Move For Hunger strives to create a culture of diverse, passionate, growth-minded professionals who work collaboratively and creatively to tackle the issues of hunger and food waste in the US. Our team is fun, innovative, goal-oriented, and driven to put more meals on the table for those in need.
Founded in 2009, Move For Hunger has partnered with 1,400+ moving companies nationwide to encourage their customers to donate their food when they move. Over the past few years, we have seen rapid expansion within the relocation and multifamily apartment industries, with over 600,000 apartment units working with us. In addition to rescuing food during move-out, Move for Hunger organizes hundreds of food drives, fundraisers, and corporate employee engagement events. We’ve further expanded our programs to farmers, distributors, CPG, and logistics companies in an effort to recover even more food donations in bulk. Since its founding, our team of 20+ has delivered nearly 100 million pounds of food to those in need - enough to provide more than 80 million meals.
The Role We’re looking for a creative, highly organized Events Manager to design experiences that make people care about hunger, and then show up and make them happen. You’ll run conference activations, ticketed events, food drives, and virtual fundraisers that build our brand, generate leads, and raise revenue. - Comfortable speaking in front of groups
What You’ll Do

- Lead ticketed and sponsored events like receptions, fundraisers, and industry gatherings
- Manage sponsor deliverables, vendors, and timelines to hit revenue, engagement, and impact goals
- Plan virtual events, webinars, and digital activations, including speakers, program flow, and promotion
Grow our event footprint
- Find new conferences, especially beyond our core industries, and pitch organizers on bringing Move for Hunger on board
- Build lasting relationships with conference hosts, sponsors, and corporate partners
- Be the main point of contact for partners hosting or sponsoring events
Keep food drives and community events moving
- Coordinate corporate food drives and community events, including food bank and transportation partners, materials, and reporting
- Make sure donations are collected and get to the people who need them
Build and lead the team

- Recruit and supervise interns, giving clear direction and regular feedback
