EXPRESSION OF INTEREST | MACHINE OPERATORS & CRANE OPERATORS | WOLLONGONG

Mesh & Bar is a leading Australian manufacturer of reinforcing steel and mesh products. We are seeking Expressions of Interest from reliable and motivated Machine Operators, Benders and Overhead Crane Operators to join our Wollongong manufacturing team.

These positions will commence on a casual contract with the intention to transition to permanent full-time employment for suitable candidates.

About the Opportunity

You will work within a busy manufacturing environment, operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently while contributing to the production of quality reinforcing steel products.

Depending on your experience, you may work across:

  • Off-coil and other manufacturing machinery.
  • Shearlines and reinforcing steel equipment.
  • Manual bending operations.
  • Overhead crane operations and loading products for transport.
  • General production and manual handling duties.
  • Quality, safety and housekeeping requirements.

Shift Details

Morning Shift: 6:30am – 2:30pm Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm – 10:30pm Please note: all employees will initially train on the morning shift (6:30am–2:30pm). Once initial training is completed, employees working afternoon shift will transition to 2:30pm–10:30pm.

About You

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Experienced in manufacturing, machine operation or steel/reinforcing steel environments.
  • Safety-focused with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable operating machinery and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous overhead crane experience is highly regarded.
  • Forklift licence, MEP or KRB experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
