Who The Client Is: Our client is a growing specialist contractor within the commercial construction sector, delivering high-performance exterior building solutions for complex developments. The business combines advanced engineering expertise, modern manufacturing practices, and a collaborative project approach to support clients from design through installation.

Known for its focus on quality, technical excellence, and dependable project execution, the company partners with builders, architects, and developers to deliver tailored solutions for large-scale commercial projects. As the business continues to expand, it is investing in skilled professionals who are passionate about innovation, precision, and delivering outstanding outcomes.

  • Produce and mark up detailed technical drawings in AutoCAD to a professional standard.
  • Take ownership of design compliance against Australian Standards, including AS 2047, AS 1288, AS 4284 and AS/NZS 1170.
  • Interrogate architectural and structural documentation and translate design intent into compliant, manufacturable systems.
  • Coordinate and review supplier fabrication documentation, resolving technical queries directly with Chinese manufacturers.
  • Apply practical judgement on fabrication and onsite installation requirements to ensure every design is buildable and installable in the field.
  • Travel to China to visit suppliers, review samples and inspect fabrication when required.
  • Lead technical discussions with clients and the internal project team via Teams, representing Vertex with authority and clarity.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Substantial, demonstrable experience in window and facade system design within commercial construction.
  • Proven ability to lead a technical scope independently and be accountable for design outcomes.
  • Advanced AutoCAD proficiency – essential.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to windows and facades, including AS 2047, AS 1288, AS 4284 and AS/NZS 1170.
  • Practical understanding of window system fabrication and onsite installation requirements gained from real project delivery.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence and technical depth to run discussions with clients and project teams over video calls.
  • Willingness to travel to China to visit suppliers as required..
  • Direct experience coordinating Chinese aluminium and glazing manufacturers.
  • Experience with curtain wall, structural glazing and aluminium systems beyond windows.
  • Familiarity with M365 and SharePoint for project collaboration.
  • Relevant engineering qualification in a related discipline.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
