Role Overview

At Xtremax, we work on technology that supports essential digital services. As a Field Operations Engineer, you will help maintain and improve the infrastructure and operational services that support Singapore Government IT systems, ensuring they remain reliable, secure, and compliant with established engineering standards.

You will work across field operations, infrastructure management, cloud provisioning, and technical service delivery. From conducting site assessments and resolving operational issues to automating deployments and configuring cloud platforms, your work will help improve service reliability, operational efficiency, and consistency across field environments.

This role is suited to an engineer with hands-on managed services and infrastructure operations experience who wants to deepen their expertise in cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps practices, and operational excellence. You will collaborate with technical teams, project managers, clients, and site personnel to deliver practical solutions while maintaining security, audit readiness, and service quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage field operations and infrastructure services by supporting routine maintenance, monitoring, change management, incident handling, and technical service requests.
  • Conduct site assessments and technical evaluations to identify operational gaps, assess infrastructure requirements, and recommend service improvements.
  • Provision and configure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Automate operational workflows by developing and maintaining scripts, deployment pipelines, and configuration automation for field operations and cloud environments.
  • Support CI/CD and platform delivery by implementing and maintaining pipelines for infrastructure management, middleware deployment, and field service delivery, including SHIP-HATS where applicable.
  • Configure and maintain cloud platforms and middleware to support reliable infrastructure and application services.
  • Implement security and engineering standards by aligning operational processes with GovTech Engineering Practices and applicable government hosting and security requirements.
  • Support compliance and audit readiness through evidence collection, technical documentation, operational reporting, and compliance monitoring.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks by assessing service impact, implementing appropriate mitigation measures, and supporting incident and safety management processes.
  • Work with clients and stakeholders to understand technical requirements, resolve queries, collect service feedback, and improve service adoption and delivery.

Requirements

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in business-as-usual (BAU) field operations, including routine maintenance, monitoring, change management, and operational support.
  • Experience delivering or supporting managed infrastructure services in on-premises and/or cloud environments.
  • Understanding of managed services delivery models, service-level agreements (SLAs), operational governance, performance measurement, and service reporting.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use operational data to inform technical decisions and improvements.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills, including the ability to prepare operational documentation and compliance evidence.
  • Ability to work with clients, site personnel, and cross-functional technical teams to resolve operational issues and deliver service improvements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and scripting with Python.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Hands-on experience with SG-TechStack products, including StackOps and SHIP-HATS.
  • Experience deploying or configuring government-mandated solutions such as ABLR and CAMS.
  • Experience leading or coordinating technical teams, including field engineers.
  • Experience supporting multi-site field operations.
  • Ability to gather customer requirements, analyse operational needs, and contribute to business case development.

Benefits

Join a technical team working on infrastructure and operations that support Singapore Government digital services. Build on your managed services experience while developing practical skills in cloud infrastructure, automation, deployment pipelines, and service reliability.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
