The posting

Join the team at Prescott’s, Inc. — where quality meets care. Prescott’s is a leading medical device services company, trusted by healthcare professionals across the country. We specialize in the distribution and expert refurbishment of essential medical equipment, including sterilizers, surgical microscopes, pumps, monitors, anesthesia machines, and more. Our mission is to enhance the quality of healthcare by ensuring providers have access to reliable, high-performing equipment. If you're passionate about supporting the frontlines of care through innovation and service, we’d love to have you on our team.

This position will support Heartland Medical and Vetland Medical — subsidiaries of Prescott's, Inc.

We are seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Field Service & Technical Sales Specialist who enjoys working with customers, learning new technologies, and performing hands-on technical work. The ideal candidate is motivated by both service and sales and has a passion for medical technology and customer support.

You will play a vital role in supporting healthcare facilities by combining hands-on technical service with strategic account development. This hybrid position serves as both a technical and customer-facing role, where you will act as a trusted advisor to healthcare providers while helping ensure the operational uptime, safety, and reliability of anesthesia machines.

This field-based role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing anesthesia machines at hospitals, surgery centers, and physician offices in accordance with company and OEM standards.

In addition to providing technical service and support, this position also contributes to business development efforts through prospecting, cold calling, relationship building, and promoting repair services, refurbishments, Capital equipment, and long-term service agreements.

Each sale will require time spent in live surgeries supervising the use of the equipment and ensuring physician satisfaction.

This position is responsible for supporting the Orange County, CA area.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and evaluate medical equipment to identify service requirements, diagnose operational issues, and determine appropriate repair and maintenance solutions.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections on surgical microscopes and related equipment in accordance with OEM and company standards.
  • Respond promptly to multiple weekly service calls, prioritizing urgent repair needs and delivering fast, effective resolutions to keep clinical operations running smoothly.
  • Work closely with hospitals, clinics, and surgical teams to ensure their equipment operates safely and reliably.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with healthcare professionals through excellent service, professionalism, and responsiveness.
  • Drive new business and account growth within the assigned territory, identifying opportunities for service contracts, refurbishments, and equipment sales.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform hands-on service work, attend service meetings, and identify opportunities for ongoing maintenance or refurbishment support.
  • Ensure all service activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent Prescott’s at industry conferences and trade shows by showcasing our service capabilities, engaging with new clients, and strengthening brand awareness.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of experience in field service, biomedical engineering, or technical sales
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to diagnose, repair and maintain complex medical or industrial equipment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence purchasing decisions in a professional setting.
  • Ability to effectively balance hands-on technical service responsibilities with customer-facing sales and commercial activities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional, solution-oriented approach.
  • Organized and self-motivated, and capable of managing priorities across a wide geographic territory.
  • Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory (approximately 60–80%).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 40 pounds.

Preferred:

  • Experience within the medical device or healthcare industry a plus
  • Experience with ERP or field service software is an advantage (preferably NetSuite).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
