The posting

Introduction

WaterConnect LLC (“WaterConnect”) is a project development company dedicated to creating opportunities for construction-stage investment in water supply and sanitation (WSS) infrastructure in low- and middle-income countries. We bring early-stage financing and technical expertise to complement local partners, develop new infrastructure, and deploy technology that will impact water access, quality, and scarcity, and in turn build resilience for households and watersheds.

WaterConnect partners with infrastructure developers, utilities, engineering firms, technology providers and equipment suppliers to co-develop infrastructure projects, bringing them from concept to financial close and construction. With the goal of accelerating the flow of projects, WaterConnect offers project development funding and expertise, particularly in legal and financial structuring, capital raising, and social and environmental impact, to supplement the pre-existing resources of project co-developers. WaterConnect seeks to develop a range of water projects, including both public private partnership projects for municipal infrastructure, as well as private industrial projects that mitigate water scarcity and reduce wastewater discharges. WaterConnect coordinates closely with sister organizations, Water.org and WaterEquity, which offer complementary products, including private equity and construction-stage infrastructure project financing.

WaterConnect is in its third year of operations after spinning off from Water.org in 2024. It represents the latest in a series of innovations by Water.org to catalyze investment into water supply and sanitation in pursuit of achieving access for all, as highlighted by UN Sustainable Development Goal 6.

Summary

WaterConnect is seeking a meticulous, self-motivated Finance and Accounting Manager to safeguard and strengthen the financial foundation of a high-impact, fast-growing infrastructure investment platform. This is an opportunity to join a startup company backed by a larger global group, working at the intersection of treasury, accounting, and reporting for a mission-driven organization.

The Finance and Accounting Manager oversees WaterConnect's internal financial operations, ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant management of the organization's finances. This role is responsible for treasury and liquidity management, vendor and banking relationships, and financial reporting. It also oversees sound accounting procedures and controls, manages the day-to-day and period-end close process, and ensures compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations.

Working closely with Water.org's finance team, the Finance and Accounting Manager will play a key role in financial statement consolidation and in maintaining the financial integrity that supports WaterConnect's mission. The role offers significant visibility, a direct line to management, and the chance to grow with the company.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
