The posting

About the company

Our client is a lean, profitable AI infrastructure company building an open-source gateway for teams to work with 100+ AI providers through a unified API. Its Python SDK and FastAPI proxy support a growing base of leading enterprise customers. The company is growing rapidly and is building its second major product.

The role

We are hiring a Founding AI Product Engineer to work directly with the founders on that next product. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can ship quickly, talk to users, gather feedback, and turn what they learn into useful features. You will own important parts of the backend API, dashboard, and developer experience as the product takes shape.

What you'll do

• Build and ship product features across backend APIs, the dashboard, and the developer experience. • Work directly with users to understand their problems and translate feedback into product decisions. • Partner closely with the founders to shape and launch the company’s second major product. • Use customer insight to prioritize practical features and improve the product after launch. • Take ownership of ambiguous problems and move them from idea to production.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• 2 or more years of AI engineering experience. • A bachelor’s degree in computer science from a top 25 U.S. computer science program. • Ability to ship production software and communicate proactively with customers. • Professional English fluency. • Evidence of initiative in college through entrepreneurial projects, hackathons, or coding competitions. • Comfort working with Python, FastAPI, TypeScript, and LLM APIs in a product environment. • Willingness to work full time, five days onsite in San Francisco, on a 60-hour workweek.

Bonus points

• Production experience with Python and FastAPI. • Experience with infrastructure, developer tools, or LLM products. • Experience building products in a high-growth, early-stage environment.

Benefits

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary of $200K to $250K, with competitive equity. • A U.S. relocation stipend for eligible candidates.

Location and work model

• Five days per week onsite in San Francisco. • Full-time role with a 60-hour workweek. • Visa sponsorship and transfers are supported.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
