ABOUT PRIME6 BRANDS

Prime6 Brands is the operating holdco behind Primal Harvest, a fast-growing direct-to-consumer supplement subscription brand. Backed by WM Partners, the company operates across a multi-entity structure spanning the US (Primal Harvest LLC, Prime Consumer Brands LLC) and Germany (Prime6 Brands GmbH), with NetSuite as its system of record.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Global Financial Controller to lead the accounting function for Prime6 Brands and its operating entities. This is a new, high-visibility role reporting directly to the CFO. You will own the monthly close process end to end, serve as the primary point of contact for our external auditors and tax preparers, and build the accounting infrastructure that scales with the business.

The right candidate combines deep US GAAP expertise with real experience managing external audits, and is comfortable operating across a multi-entity, multi-currency, multi-standard environment spanning US GAAP and German HGB. English is the company working language across all entities and time zones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting Leadership

  • Lead and manage the accounting function across Primal Harvest LLC, Prime Consumer Brands LLC, and Prime6 Brands GmbH
  • Own the monthly close process end to end, including close calendar, task sequencing, reconciliations, and timely delivery of financial statements
  • Build, mentor, and develop the accounting team, setting standards for accuracy, timeliness, and documentation
  • Maintain and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across all entities
  • Own the chart of accounts, GL structure, and consolidation logic in partnership with the finance systems team

External Audit & Tax

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors (BDO) across the annual audit cycle, including planning, fieldwork, and resolution of open items
  • Prepare and review audit support schedules, management representation letters, and supporting documentation for the FY audit package
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external tax preparers (PwC) on US federal, state, and international tax matters
  • Coordinate responses to auditor and tax preparer data requests, ensuring timely and accurate turnaround
  • Manage relationships with German audit and tax advisors (HKS or equivalent) to support Prime6 Brands GmbH statutory reporting

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements under US GAAP, with oversight of HGB statutory reporting for the German entity
  • Own technical accounting positions and memos for significant or judgmental transactions
  • Ensure compliance with lender covenants and credit agreement reporting requirements
  • Maintain internal controls documentation and support control testing and remediation efforts
  • Support the CFO on board, investor, and PE sponsor (WM Partners) reporting deliverables

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with the CFO on quality of earnings, financial due diligence, and other sponsor-driven workstreams
  • Work closely with the finance systems and FP&A functions to ensure clean, audit-ready data across NetSuite and adjacent systems
  • Collaborate with legal, treasury, and operations on matters with accounting or reporting implications
  • Represent the accounting function in lender, insurance, and other external diligence processes as needed

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Fluent English, written and spoken (company working language)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
  • 8 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including people leadership of an accounting team
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP, with the judgment to apply it to complex or non-routine transactions
  • Direct experience managing external audits, including serving as the primary company contact for the audit firm
  • Experience running or directly overseeing the monthly close process
  • Experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets

Preferred

  • Strongly preferred exposure to German accounting standards (HGB) or cross-border intercompany structures
  • Working knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience in a PE-owned or PE-backed company
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP in a multi-subsidiary environment
  • German language proficiency (spoken and written)
  • Experience supporting quality of earnings processes, lender diligence, or sponsor reporting

LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This role can work fully remotely from the US Eastern or Central Time zone.

Candidates are expected to travel to our Cologne office at least once during the first six months of employment. Travel costs will be covered by the company. After the initial period, travel frequency will be assessed based on business needs.

WHY THIS ROLE

  • High-visibility seat reporting directly to the CFO, with broad exposure to lender, board, and PE sponsor relationships
  • Ownership of the full accounting function at a fast-growing, international, PE-backed company
  • Direct relationships with external auditors and tax advisors, with real influence over process and outcomes
  • Lean, collaborative team where your work has direct impact on company decisions
  • Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and location

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
