Be Part of Our Story

The Fiction is a new 5-star lifestyle hotel in Marousi, bringing a fresh approach to urban hospitality in Athens. It's managed by SWOT Hospitality, one of Greece's leading hotel management companies.

You're the first smile our guests see when they arrive and the last one when they leave. As Groom at The Fiction, you'll welcome guests, help them with their luggage and make sure they feel at home from the very first moment. You'll report to our [Front Office Manager].

What you'll do

  • Welcome guests at the entrance and walk them to reception
  • Carry luggage to and from rooms on arrival and departure
  • Show guests to their room and explain its features
  • Store luggage in the luggage room and keep accurate records
  • Deliver parcels, messages and requests to rooms
  • Help with taxis, transfers and car arrivals at the entrance
  • Share useful information and tips about Athens with guests
  • Keep the entrance and lobby clean and well presented
  • Support the front office team wherever needed

Your first day You'll meet the front office team and the other departments, and get a full tour of the hotel, its rooms and facilities. You'll learn our service standards and procedures, and during your first shifts you'll work side by side with an experienced colleague.

A day in your shoes

  • Start with the shift briefing on today's arrivals, departures and VIP guests
  • Check the luggage room and get the entrance ready
  • Welcome guests, carry luggage and show them to their rooms
  • Handle requests, deliver parcels and help with taxis and transfers
  • At the end of your shift, hand over anything pending to the next colleague

Requirements

  • What you bring
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Very good Greek and English
  • A positive attitude and a love for hospitality
  • Professionalism and a sense of responsibility
  • Confidence communicating with people
  • Good physical fitness for carrying luggage and being on your feet
  • Happy to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Nice to have
  • Experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel
  • A third foreign language
  • Good knowledge of Athens
  • [A driving licence]
