Head of Electrical Engineering - RES & Storage O&M

Role Overview

The Head of Electrical Engineering – RES & Storage O&M leads and oversees the electrical engineering activities across RES and energy storage facilities, ensuring their safe, reliable and efficient operation. The role focuses on maintenance effectiveness, fault analysis, asset performance optimization and the coordination of technical teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) activities of renewable energy facilities and substations in Evia.
  • Monitor the day-to-day operation and performance of the assets under responsibility.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of electrical faults and failures, identify underlying causes and recommend appropriate corrective and improvement actions.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Develop technical guidelines and recommendations for additional inspections and controls resulting from fault analyses and operational findings.
  • Coordinate the activities of contractors and suppliers and monitor the fulfilment of their contractual obligations.
  • Ensure the safety of facilities, personnel and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of the Company's Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Management Systems.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with relevant stakeholders, including technical consultants, local public authorities and other external parties.
  • Work closely with other Company departments and functions, including Licensing, Insurance, Energy Resource Management and Construction, as required.
  • Support the technical development and training of newly hired electrical engineers.

Candidate Profile

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in maintenance organization, including planning, scheduling and execution, as well as maintenance schedule optimization, with a focus on cost control and optimal operational performance.
  • Relevant professional experience in the energy sector or a comparable heavy industrial environment.
  • Valid authorization/license for the operation and handling of Medium Voltage (MV) / High Voltage (HV) electrical installations.
  • Knowledge of protection systems for MV and HV electrical networks.
  • Knowledge and experience in analyzing operational data from Historian databases and SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming, electrical panel design using EPLAN, and ERP systems such as SAP will be considered a strong asset.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken, including technical terminology.
