The posting

Renmoney Microfinance Bank is on a mission to empower individuals and businesses across Nigeria by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem. From lending and savings to insurance, remittances, payments, and lifestyle services, we are creating innovative solutions that drive financial inclusion and economic growth.

Your Mission

As Chief Product Officer (CPO), you will own the vision and strategic direction of Renmoney’s retail product ecosystem. This includes core lending and banking products, as well as adjacent services such as insurance, remittances, and lifestyle solutions. Given the seniority of the CPO position and its strategic impact on the business, the role requires relocation to Lagos, Nigeria for the on-site work in the headquarters of the company.

You will work closely with the executive team to:

  • Drive product innovation and profitability.
  • Enhance customer experience and adoption.
  • Ensure products are competitive, compliant, and scalable in Nigeria’s fast-evolving financial services landscape.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams across Product Management, Design, Data, and Technology — ensuring that what we build creates measurable value for customers, partners, and the business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Vision

  • Define and deliver Renmoney’s ecosystem product strategy, balancing growth, profitability, and risk.
  • Translate market opportunities into scalable product roadmaps across lending, banking services, insurance, remittances, payments, and lifestyle.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory requirements and competitive dynamics in Nigeria.

Product Development & Execution

  • Lead the design and rollout of customer-centric products tailored to Nigeria’s retail segments.
  • Champion research, data analytics, and customer feedback to shape product decisions.
  • Drive adoption of AI, automation, and digital channels to improve efficiency and customer experience.
  • Establish robust product governance and compliance processes.

Ecosystem & Partnerships

  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with fintechs, telcos, insurers, remittance providers, and lifestyle platforms.
  • Develop cross-sell, bundled, and embedded finance opportunities that expand customer value.
  • Negotiate favorable commercial terms that balance growth and cost efficiency.

Leadership & Performance

  • Lead and grow a high-performing product team with a culture of accountability, innovation, and delivery.
  • Partner with Risk, Finance, and Collections to optimize pricing, yields, impairments, and capital allocation.
  • Track and report KPIs: adoption, profitability, NPS/CSAT, revenue contribution, and ecosystem expansion.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product leadership experience (including Head of Product, VP Product, or CPO), ideally in financial services, fintech, or microfinance.
  • Proven success in scaling retail products and ecosystems (beyond lending).
  • Strong grasp of Nigeria’s financial landscape (banking, regulation, competition, consumer behavior).
  • Ability to link product outcomes directly to P&L impact (CAC, LTV, NPS, churn).
  • Experience with AI, automation, and data-driven product management.
  • Strong leadership skills: strategic thinker, clear communicator, collaborative, commercially minded.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or related) is a plus but not mandatory.

Benefits

  • Full support with relocation to Lagos, Nigeria
  • A unique opportunity to shape the future of financial services in Nigeria.
  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Pension scheme, health cover, and wellness benefits.
  • A collaborative and high-growth environment.
  • Growth and development opportunities in a mission-driven organization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
