The posting

Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Head of Product and Operations

Work Schedule: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Australian Business Hours

Compensation range: $3,000 AUD - $4,500 AUD / Monthly (before tax and deductions)

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be formally employed through an Employer of Record (EOR) arrangement. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you’ll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: We’re a community-driven platform built to connect local businesses with fundraisers in a way that benefits everyone. By making it easy for merchants to share offers and for groups to raise funds, we create a simple, win-win model that drives growth, engagement, and impact without the usual barriers. Our mission is to keep commerce and community working hand in hand, making support effortless and rewarding.

Role Overview: We are not looking for a virtual assistant, general administrator or software developer.

We’re looking for a senior Product & Operations leader with previous experience working within a SaaS, marketplace, membership, subscription, fintech, loyalty/rewards, or comparable digital platform.

The successful candidate will take significant responsibility away from the Founder, owning the day-to-day operation of the platform and coordinating the technology, systems, and processes required for the company to scale.

This role requires someone who can identify problems, investigate root causes, determine effective solutions, and follow them through to completion with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities: Product Ownership

  • Own and maintain the company’s product roadmap.
  • Translate commercial requirements into clear development specifications.
  • Prioritise features, improvements and bugs.
  • Manage external developers and technology partners.
  • Challenge development estimates and timelines where appropriate.
  • Establish acceptance criteria for development.
  • Coordinate releases.
  • Maintain product and technical documentation.

QA & Technology Management

  • Take ownership of QA and regression testing.
  • Test development before production release.
  • Maintain bugs and issue registers.
  • Manage development priorities and delivery.
  • Understand web/mobile applications, APIs, databases, integrations and cloud infrastructure sufficiently to manage technical suppliers.
  • Coordinate security, backups, platform reliability and technical issues.

The successful candidate does not need to code, but must be technically confident enough to manage developers effectively.

Fundraiser Operations

Manage the operational process from:

Signed → Onboarding → Setup → Launch → Active

Including fundraiser accounts, pages, payment configuration, dashboards, reporting and support.

Merchant Operations

Manage:

Signed → Onboarding → Offer Setup → Approval → Live → Ongoing Management

Including merchant information, locations, offers, codes, terms and offer accuracy.

Member & Payment Operations

Oversee:

Registration → Payment → Fundraiser Allocation → Membership Activation → Usage → Renewal

Including Stripe/payment issues, failed payments, refunds, membership status and reconciliation.

Customer Support

Establish and manage support processes for:

  • Fundraisers
  • Merchants
  • Members

Build systems, FAQs, documentation and automation that reduce repetitive support requirements.

Data & Reporting

  • Build and maintain management reporting covering:
  • Fundraisers
  • Merchants
  • Members
  • Membership sales
  • Revenue
  • Fundraising distributions
  • Payments
  • Renewals
  • Customer support
  • Product development
  • Platform performance

Management should have a clear weekly view of the health of the business.

Automation & Scalability

A major part of this role is identifying manual processes and progressively automating them.

We want someone constantly asking:

“How can the company support 1,000 fundraisers and 100,000+ members without needing a huge operations team?"

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Digital Product and/or technology-enabled operations.
  • Previous experience working for an Australian, UK, US or other international technology company would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication.
  • Formal tertiary qualifications in technology, information systems, business, operations or similar would be advantageous but are not essential.

We are looking for demonstrated experience in:

  • SaaS, marketplace, fintech, subscription or membership platforms.
  • Product management and/or product ownership.
  • Managing external software developers.
  • QA and software releases.
  • Digital customer onboarding.
  • Payments and subscriptions, with Stripe experience highly regarded.
  • CRM and workflow systems.
  • Process automation.
  • Customer support operations.
  • Data, dashboards and reporting.
  • Building operational processes within a growing company.

Demonstrated experience is considerably more important.

Personality & Working Style: This is particularly important to us. We are looking for someone who is:

  • Highly accountable.
  • Proactive rather than reactive.
  • Extremely organised.
  • Commercially minded.
  • Technically confident.
  • Comfortable challenging developers.
  • A strong communicator.
  • Comfortable working directly with a Founder.
  • Capable of operating with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Obsessed with improving processes.
  • Able to move between strategy and hands-on problem solving.

We want someone who takes ownership, not someone who simply waits for tasks.

We are particularly interested in someone who has joined a smaller digital business and helped build the systems and processes required for it to scale.

What Success Looks Like:

Within the first 6–12 months, this person should have:

  • Taken day-to-day product and operational management away from the Founder.
  • Established disciplined development and QA processes.
  • Created scalable fundraiser and merchant onboarding.
  • Improved the member and payment experience.
  • Established reliable management reporting.
  • Built effective support systems.
  • Identified and automated repetitive processes.
  • Created a clear product roadmap.
  • Built the operational foundation capable of supporting significant company’s growth.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up via an Employer of Record (EOR) service.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
