About Kaya

Kaya by Chemin Sdn Bhd is a community of high-performing data annotators helping build the next generation of AI. Join us to work on impactful AI projects, develop your skills, and become part of a growing global community.

About the Role

We are looking for medical professionals and individuals with healthcare knowledge to join a remote Medical Transcription Project supporting the development of AI language systems.

We especially welcome applications from:

  • Medical students
  • Allied health professionals
  • Medical interpreters
  • Medical transcriptionists
  • Healthcare workers or individuals familiar with medical terminology

In this project, you will listen to authentic Cantonese-English healthcare conversations and accurately transcribe them. The recordings feature natural Cantonese-English code-switching, with English medical terminology commonly used in healthcare settings. Medical knowledge is important to accurately identify and transcribe these terms.

We're primarily looking for candidates who are fluent in Cantonese and familiar with the Hong Kong accent. However, anyone who can confidently understand and write Cantonese is welcome to apply.

If you're detail-oriented, comfortable working with audio, and interested in contributing to healthcare AI, we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Listen to Cantonese-English healthcare audio recordings and transcribe them accurately
  • Segment audio into natural speech units
  • Identify and label speakers when multiple voices are present
  • Add simple annotations (such as gender, age group, and emotion)
  • Review and validate transcription quality through Quality Control (QC) tasks, if assigned
  • Follow project guidelines to maintain high-quality outputs
  • Communicate with the Project Manager when clarification is needed
  • Complete assigned tasks within the project timeline

Project Details

  • Project Duration: 2 months
  • Project Period: July 20 – September 2026
  • Working Hours: Flexible (complete tasks anytime before the project deadline)
  • Time Commitment: At least 4 hours per day (including weekends when required)
  • Onboarding Training: Mandatory (TBD, during office hours, 9 AM–6 PM GMT+8)

Pay Rate

  • Execution: Earn approximately USD 2–3 per hour
  • Quality Control (QC): Earn approximately USD 4 per hour

What Do I Need?

Language Skills

  • Fluent in spoken Cantonese and able to write in Traditional Chinese
  • Familiar with the Hong Kong Cantonese accent (preferred)
  • Comfortable understanding Cantonese-English code-switching, including English medical terminology
  • Fluent in English for project communication and understanding project guidelines

Professional Background

  • Medical student, allied health professional, medical interpreter, medical transcriptionist, healthcare worker, or have equivalent familiarity with healthcare terminology and clinical conversations

Other Requirements

  • Candidates based in Hong Kong are strongly encouraged to apply, though applicants from other locations who can confidently transcribe Hong Kong Cantonese are welcome
  • Familiar with using a Cantonese Jyutping keyboard
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain at least 95% transcription accuracy
  • Access to a laptop or desktop computer, headset, and a stable internet connection

Bonus: Previous experience in medical transcription, transcription, audio annotation, data labelling, linguistics, or AI-related projects.

Benefits

  • Work remotely from anywhere
  • Priority consideration for future AI projects
  • Contribute to AI trained on authentic Cantonese-English healthcare conversations

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
