Thrive Education Partners is seeking an exceptional in-person tutor to support a bright, motivated high school freshman in Savannah, GA.
This student recently transitioned from several years of homeschooling into a traditional college-preparatory high school. She is an avid reader, strong student in many areas, and a varsity athlete. Her biggest need is learning how to manage the new demands of traditional high school—including organization, time management, studying, test preparation, and balancing academics with athletics.
We are looking for a warm, engaging educator who can provide a combination of executive functioning coaching and academic support.
Key areas of support:
- Executive functioning and organization
- Weekly planning and time management
- Study skills and test preparation
- Managing assignments across online school platforms and a written planner
- Breaking larger tasks into manageable steps
- Building independence, accountability, and self-advocacy
- General high school academic support
- Algebra support strongly preferred
- Biology and/or French experience is a plus
Schedule: 2 one-hour sessions per week. After-school/evening and/or weekend availability is preferred. Scheduling will need to accommodate the student’s athletic commitments.
Location: Savannah, GA. This is an in-person position, with sessions taking place in the student’s home
Requirements
- Teaching, tutoring, academic coaching, or related educational experience
- Strong understanding of executive functioning and study skills
- Comfortable supporting high school-level academics
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable and able to commit consistently
- Bachelor’s degree required; teaching experience or certification preferred
Benefits
$60-80 per hour, depending on experience
