The posting

Since our establishment in 1990, Methods has partnered with a range of central government departments and agencies to transform the way the public sector operates in the UK.

Our mission is to improve and safeguard public-facing services. We apply digital thinking to ensure the future of our public services is centred around our citizens.

Our human touch sets us apart from other consultancies, system integrators and software houses - we have a customer-centric value system whereby we focus on delivering what is right for our clients.

We passionately support our clients in the success of their projects while working collaboratively to share skill sets and solve problems. At Methods we have fun while working hard; we are not afraid of making mistakes and learning from them.

Methods are experts in delivering secure, resilient cyber and information services – keeping systems and data safe.

We help reduce risk and vulnerabilities from cyber-attacks by developing a security road-map tailored to your unique needs.

We help organisations improve processes such as threat management by building an identity management programme, and establishing prevention, detection and response capabilities to cyber-attacks.

The Role:

The IAM Engineer is responsible for delivering identity and access management capabilities across enterprise environments. The role focuses on identity lifecycle management, application onboarding, access governance, provisioning, authentication and directory integrations, ensuring secure and compliant access to business systems.

  • Deliver application onboarding and access provisioning solutions across IAM platforms.
  • Implement and support role-based access control (RBAC), access governance and certification processes.
  • Develop integrations using APIs, web services and directory technologies.
  • Investigate and resolve identity, provisioning and access-related issues.
  • Work collaboratively with security, infrastructure, application and business teams to deliver IAM services.
  • Support testing, deployment and operational transition activities.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, support procedures and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, automation and optimisation of IAM processes and services.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of RBAC, access governance, certification and compliance controls.
  • Experience troubleshooting identity synchronisation, provisioning and authentication issues.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience integrating with ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect and SCIM.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
