The posting

Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: International Business Development Manager

Compensation range: AUD $2,000 / month base salary, plus a performance bonus of up to AUD $1,000 / month (total up to AUD $3,000 / month)

Work Schedule: Full-time, with core AEST overlap for head office coordination plus availability to reach distributors and customers in assigned export markets

Who We Are:

At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be formally employed through an Employer of Record (EOR) arrangement. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you’ll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is:

The client is an established Australian medical imaging company with roots going back to the 1970s. It manufactures its own products in Australia and exports them through a network of international distributors and resellers in 20 to 30 countries.

This role owns export sales growth for the client. You’ll find and develop new business, win and grow distributor and customer relationships, and push opportunities through to close. You’ll pull in the internal support each deal needs across pricing, product, regulatory and shipping.

You’ll report to the Business Manager and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Regulatory. This is a self-directed role. There is no script or playbook. You decide how each market gets developed, within the agreed targets, pricing authority and response standards.

Role Overview:

This is a business development role first. The client needs someone who can spot opportunities, build new business and take sales through to close on their own. The international distributor network is central to the role. You will grow the existing network and add new distributors and customers across MENA, ASEAN and undeveloped territories.

Many of the client’s distributors and customers do not speak English as their first language, so clear, easily understood communication is essential.

You do not need medical or export experience. The client will provide hands-on product and market training, including in-person training in Australia soon after onboarding. Established sales skills need to be in place from day one.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a data-driven plan for which countries, distributors and customers to target, and show the reasoning behind it.
  • Prospect and generate your own leads using lead generation tools (for example Apollo or LinkedIn Sales Navigator) and AI tools.
  • Research, prospect and assess new distributors and resellers in assigned markets, then move the right ones through the client’s approval and distribution agreement process and onboard them.
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned distributors. Hold a regular call and review cadence, know their business and their market, and track their performance against the distribution agreement so that underperformance and unmet demand both get raised early.
  • Keep visibility of every open opportunity and follow it through to close. Provide quotes, reference pricing, product information and tender support to move deals forward. Any pricing or discount outside the approved price list must be signed off in writing by the Business Manager before you quote it.
  • Deliver product and sales training to distributors. Build monthly sales and product campaigns and a quarterly distributor newsletter with Marketing.
  • Support distributors with local product registration, import and regulatory requirements, and gather the product, quality and regulatory documentation with the internal owners. Report back what you learn about competitor moves, pricing pressure and market access.
  • Track open orders, coordinate with Supply Chain on preparation and shipping, and resolve documentation or fulfillment issues while keeping the distributor informed.
  • Keep the CRM accurate and current. Log distributors, contacts, opportunities and activity within agreed timeframes, and give regular territory and pipeline updates to the Business Manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A proven track record in B2B sales or business development, including identifying opportunities, developing new business and taking sales from prospecting through quotation to close.
  • Strong commercial judgment around pricing and margin, and the attention to detail that quoting demands.
  • Able to build and grow customer and distributor relationships independently, prioritize across multiple markets and deliver against targets with limited day-to-day direction.
  • Comfortable thinking on your feet and building your own approach to a market, without a script.
  • Hands-on experience with prospecting and lead generation tools. Comfortable using AI in your sales process.
  • Strong written English.
  • Clear, easily understood spoken English, strong enough to run commercial discussions with international distributors whose first language is not English, and with Australian head office stakeholders.
  • A technical and professional mindset, and comfort picking up technical products quickly and explaining them clearly. Candidates from other industries are welcome.
  • Confident with CRM and ERP platforms, or able to learn them fast.
  • Tertiary qualification is strongly preferred. A qualification in business, sales or marketing is a plus.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Export, distributor or channel sales experience, or international account management.
  • Medical device, healthcare or medical imaging background.

Benefits

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Be available for meetings and collaboration during core AEST business hours, and arrange enough overlap with assigned export markets to meet agreed response standards.
  • Acknowledge distributor enquiries and support requests within one business day.
  • Be willing and able to travel internationally when required, including industry conferences, distributor visits and periodic travel to the Australian head office.
  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work.
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
