The posting

Precision Steel Services — Toledo, OH

Precision Steel Services has supplied steel across the Midwest since 1974. We are looking for a dependable Janitorial team member to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace throughout our manufacturing facilities.

The Role

A clean facility does not happen by accident.

In this role, you will be responsible for keeping offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and production spaces clean and orderly while also supporting industrial housekeeping throughout the shop.

This is not a position where you sweep one area all day.

You may clean around machinery, remove production debris, empty material hoppers, operate floor-cleaning equipment, move throughout multiple areas of the facility, and help with basic facility or housekeeping needs as they arise.

You will work both indoors and outdoors and should expect normal manufacturing conditions including heat, cold, noise, dust, grease, oil, and dirt.

The right person takes pride in cleanliness, notices when something is not up to standard, and does not need someone constantly pointing out what needs attention.

What You’ll Do

  • Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility
  • Operate floor scrubbers, industrial vacuums, and other cleaning equipment
  • Empty trash, recycling, and production waste containers
  • Remove steel shavings, swarf, dust, dirt, and other production debris
  • Use a forklift to move and empty hoppers and support industrial housekeeping activities
  • Clean around machinery and production equipment
  • Remove grease, oil, dirt, and contaminants from assigned areas
  • Keep aisles, walkways, entrances, and workspaces clear and safe
  • Maintain restroom, break-room, and cleaning supplies
  • Identify spills, housekeeping hazards, damaged items, or facility concerns and address or report them promptly
  • Assist with outdoor cleanup, walkways, snow removal, and seasonal facility needs when required
  • Support minor facility tasks such as replacing light bulbs, changing dispensers, and other basic upkeep
  • Follow cleaning schedules and checklists consistently
  • Help teammates and other departments when additional cleanup or facility support is needed
  • Keep cleaning equipment, supplies, and storage areas organized

What We Expect

  • You take ownership of the areas assigned to you
  • You notice dirt, debris, clutter, spills, and other issues without waiting for someone to point them out
  • You maintain the same standard even when no one is watching
  • You are willing to work in hot, cold, dusty, dirty, and non-climate-controlled conditions
  • You are comfortable operating a forklift as part of the job
  • You stay productive when your normal checklist is complete
  • You communicate when another department or employee is repeatedly creating a housekeeping problem
  • You ask for help when a task requires another department or skill set
  • You work safely around active production equipment, forklifts, cranes, and employees
  • You follow chemical-handling and safety requirements
  • You show up reliably and understand that cleanliness depends on consistency
  • You take pride in leaving an area noticeably better than you found it

What Winning Looks Like

  • Assigned areas consistently meet a high cleanliness standard
  • Floors, aisles, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and production spaces stay clean and orderly
  • Trash, debris, swarf, and waste do not accumulate
  • Hoppers are emptied before they create a problem
  • Spills and housekeeping hazards are addressed quickly
  • Cleaning supplies remain stocked and organized
  • Checklists are completed consistently without constant supervision
  • Employees can rely on the facility being clean and safe
  • You notice problems before someone has to ask you to handle them
  • When your work is caught up, you find another productive way to help
  • The facility reflects pride and professionalism

Why Precision Steel Services

Janitorial work is more than cleaning.

This position supports safety, production, employee morale, and the overall standard of the workplace.

The strongest people in this role take personal ownership of cleanliness. They notice details, maintain a high standard, speak up when something is not right, and stay productive without needing someone to continuously direct them.

If you take pride in physical work, like seeing the result of what you accomplished, and want the opportunity to build additional skills over time, this can be a strong place to do it.

Fast hiring process: application, interview, facility tour, and quick decision for the right person.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
