The posting

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Junior Account Executive to join our growing team at PingPong Digital. You will support client relationship management, help craft and implement tailored digital marketing strategies, and help ensure the success of your assigned accounts. Working closely with your Account Manager and collaborating with the sales and creative teams, you will help deliver strong results for clients advertising on both Chinese and Western platforms, particularly in the higher education sector.

This is an entry-level role, and we will provide full training. We value curiosity, drive, and potential as much as experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of robust relationships with clients, particularly higher education institutions and student-focused organisations, to ensure their expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

• Assist in the creation and execution of bespoke digital marketing strategies that align with the specific goals of each client, across both Chinese platforms (such as WeChat, Weibo, RedNote/Xiaohongshu and Douyin) and Western platforms (such as Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn).

• Support the day-to-day delivery of campaigns, preparing and trafficking assets, checking live activity, maintaining trackers and following up on deadlines with internal teams.

• Collaborate with sales and creative teams to help prepare compelling proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the value of our services.

• Monitor and analyse campaign performance, using data to support recommendations for improvement and optimisation.

• Prepare timely, precise reports on campaign outcomes for your Account Manager to review before sharing with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Stay informed of the latest trends and developments within both the Chinese and Western digital marketing landscapes to foster growth and innovation within your accounts.

• Actively participate in client meetings and presentations, capture clear notes, follow up on actions, and build toward leading your own sections of the conversation.

• Help identify opportunities for account growth and expansion and raise them with your Account Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high proficiency in both English and Mandarin.

• Some exposure to marketing or client services. Relevant internships, placements or university projects in digital marketing or the education sector are highly valued. Recent graduates and those in their first role are welcome to apply.

• A working understanding of the digital marketing landscape, including social media and search engines, and a genuine interest in building expertise across both Chinese and Western platforms, with the ability to assist in the development of digital marketing campaigns.

• High AI literacy, confident using AI tools (such as Claude or Gemini) in everyday work, with sound judgement about where they help, where they do not, and what needs checking.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and support communication with key external stakeholders.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a rigorous approach to data-driven decision-making.

• A proactive, detail-driven attitude and a willingness to learn, you ask questions, take feedback well and follow things through.

Preferred Skills

The following are not essential, but will help your application stand out:

• Western digital marketing ecosystem: familiarity with, or hands-on exposure to, platforms such as Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, TikTok Ads Manager or LinkedIn Campaign Manager.

• Applied use of AI: a track record of using AI to improve your own productivity, drafting and editing, research and competitor scans, summarising data, translation and localisation, or building simple workflows and automations, and an interest in helping the wider team work the same way.

• Analytics and reporting: working knowledge of tools such as Google Analytics (GA4) or Looker Studio, and confident Excel / Google Sheets skills (formulas, pivot tables, charts).

• Certifications: Google Ads or Google Analytics, Meta Blueprint, TikTok Academy or similar, or a willingness to complete them within your first few months.

• Sector interest: an interest in the higher education or student marketing sector, or in cross-border and international marketing more broadly.

• Content and design: basic skills in Figma or the Adobe Creative Suite for quick-turnaround assets.

• Project tools: exposure to project management or reporting tools.

Benefits

We are an award-winning full-service Chinese digital marketing agency with offices in the UK, US and China. We work with brands on their Chinese digital marketing activation (social media, strategy, creative, web, paid media, PR) to build better awareness and engagement in a competitive Chinese marketplace, to scale and succeed, and increasingly support those same brands across Western platforms in markets around the world. We have a friendly, warm, supportive and inviting office that is very young and passionate about what we do! We have offices in London, Birmingham, Shanghai and New York. We also think it's important to have fun at work, so we want new team members who enjoy working in a friendly, collaborative environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
