About Us

Storebox is a growing self-storage operator with a portfolio of 29 indoor and outdoor facilities across the UK and is part of Spectrum Storage Group, one of the UK's largest storage operators. Alongside LOVESPACE, the UK's largest tech-enabled storage and collection service, Storebox helps Spectrum serve virtually every storage need, anywhere in the UK. Ranked as the 8th largest self-storage operator in the UK in the 2025 UK Self Storage Association annual report, Storebox is expanding its footprint through new site acquisitions, ground-up developments, and the repurposing of existing buildings. As part of our continued growth, we're looking for a Junior Development Manager to join the Storebox development team and support the delivery of new sites from initial appraisal through to opening. With more than a decade of innovation in the storage sector, we continue to invest in smart technology and new locations to make storage easier and more accessible

The Role

Working closely with and reporting to the Development Manager, you will support the identification, appraisal, and delivery of self-storage development opportunities. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their property or development career to gain hands-on exposure of the full development lifecycle within a fast-moving, commercially focused sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Support site identification and sourcing, including researching target catchment areas and maintaining a pipeline of potential opportunities

• Help prepare planning applications and liaise with planning consultants, architects, and local authorities

• Support the Development Manager in managing the design process with architects and engineers, ensuring schemes meet operational and brand requirements

• Assist in managing the tendering process and coordinating with contractors, quantity surveyors, and project managers during construction

• Track project budgets, timelines, and key milestones, flagging risks or delays

• Prepare reports, presentations, and investment papers for internal stakeholders and board approval

• Conduct due diligence on prospective acquisitions (title, planning history, ground conditions, etc.)

• Build and maintain relationships with agents, landowners, planning consultants, and local authorities

• Attend site visits, design meetings, and project review meetings

• Carry out general administrative and coordination tasks to support the wider development team

Requirements

• 1–3 years' experience in property development, real estate, planning, construction, or a related field (graduates with relevant placement/internship experience will also be considered)

• Degree in a relevant discipline such as Real Estate, Property Development, Planning, Surveying, Construction Management, or similar (or equivalent experience)

• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence in financial modelling and appraisals (Excel proficiency essential)

• Good understanding of, or strong interest in, the UK planning system and development process

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

• A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn

• Full UK driving license, with willingness to travel to sites in the UK and Ireland using personal vehicle as required – costs will be reimbursed at 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles and 25p thereafter

• Interest in or experience within the self-storage, logistics, or wider real estate sectors is a plus

Benefits

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
