Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior QA + DevOps Engineer to support software quality assurance, API testing, database validation, and application deployment activities in Linux environments. This role combines hands-on manual testing with essential DevOps and operational responsibilities to ensure applications are reliable, functional, and ready for production.

The ideal candidate will have a good foundation in software testing, practical experience with REST APIs and SQL databases, basic Python scripting skills, and familiarity with Unix/Linux environments. You should be comfortable collaborating with developers and operations teams to identify defects, validate fixes, and support smooth application releases.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand functional requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, test data, and execution reports.
  • Perform manual functional, regression, integration, smoke, and sanity testing of web applications and backend services.
  • Test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools, validating request and response payloads, HTTP status codes, authentication, error handling, and business logic.
  • Execute SQL queries to validate application data, perform database checks, and investigate data inconsistencies in MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Use Python scripting to develop small utilities, prepare test data, process logs, support API testing, and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Assist with application deployments on Linux servers and perform post-deployment smoke tests.
  • Execute Unix/Linux commands for file operations, permissions, process checks, service validation, environment verification, and log analysis.
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, severity, and expected versus actual results.
  • Collaborate with developers to verify defect fixes and perform regression testing.
  • Support release activities by coordinating with development and operations teams.
  • Validate application health after deployments and escalate issues that may affect functionality or stability.
  • Maintain test evidence, QA documentation, deployment notes, release checklists, and defect records.
  • Follow established testing procedures, deployment practices, and quality standards.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 1–2 years of experience in software QA, manual testing, application support, DevOps, or a related technical role.
  • Good understanding of software testing fundamentals, test case design, defect reporting, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using Postman or equivalent tools.
  • Working knowledge of Python and the ability to write basic scripts for testing and operational support.
  • Good SQL skills and practical exposure to MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Basic understanding of Unix/Linux environments, including commands, file permissions, processes, services, and log analysis.
  • Familiarity with application deployment procedures and post-deployment validation on Linux servers.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with QA, Development, and Operations teams.
  • Ability to document test results, defects, and deployment activities accurately.
  • A proactive learning mindset and willingness to develop skills across quality assurance, automation, and DevOps practices.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
