"Be Part of Our Success Story as We Expand and Evolve"

Purpose:

As Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you are the technical lead for the mechanical development of complex systems, modules and equipment for semiconductor manufacturing and other high-tech applications.

Within multidisciplinary development teams, you take ownership of the mechanical engineering aspects throughout the complete product development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and concept development through detailed design, verification, industrialization and product release. You combine strong technical depth with a hands-on engineering mindset and work closely with our in-house manufacturing and assembly teams, as well as suppliers, to ensure successful realization and industrialization of new designs.

You provide technical leadership and coaching to mechanical engineers within development projects and serve as a key technical contributor within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Area of Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the mechanical design aspects within development projects and provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to mechanical engineers within project teams.
  • Support early project phases by analyzing requirements, contributing to technical scope definition, work breakdown structures, and providing engineering effort estimates.
  • Translate customer, product and system requirements into clear mechanical specifications and design requirements.
  • Lead concept development activities and evaluate alternative design solutions.
  • Make well-balanced engineering decisions considering performance, reliability, manufacturability, cleanliness, cost, and lead time.
  • Apply sound engineering principles related to precision mechanics, structural behavior, dynamics, thermal effects and material selection.
  • Perform or guide engineering calculations, tolerance analyses and simulation activities where required.
  • Develop and review 3D models, engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Lead and participate in technical reviews and design evaluations.
  • Support prototype integration, testing, validation and qualification activities.
  • Acts as a recognized technical expert within the organization and contributes to the development of engineering standards, methodologies and best practices.
  • Mentor and support the technical development of mechanical engineers, contributing to capability growth within the engineering organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in mechanical design and development within the semiconductor, precision engineering, or high-tech equipment industry.
  • Experience designing systems involving vacuum technology, high-cleanliness requirements, precision mechanical assemblies, and mechatronic equipment.
  • Apply Design for Excellence (DfX) principles, including Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Serviceability, Reliability, and Cost throughout product development.
  • Strong affinity with hands-on engineering, manufacturing and product realization.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure successful industrialization of new products.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, precision positioning, dynamic behavior, material properties, structural strength, and stiffness.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD systems such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Teamcenter.
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis tools including tolerance analysis and FEA.
  • Strong system-thinking capability, analytical mindset, and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
