This role will play an important part in shaping the next phase of Spindrift’s procurement and sourcing capabilities, helping transform procurement into a strategic advantage through stronger supplier partnerships, scalable operating models, enhanced governance, and disciplined execution.

This position may be hired at the Associate Director, Director, or Senior Director level based on the successful candidate’s experience, capabilities, and readiness to take on the scope of the role. The breadth of ownership, strategic influence, and organizational leadership will be calibrated accordingly.

The role will manage a team of two individual contributors, and will partner closely with the VP of Supply Chain to advance procurement excellence initiatives, including supplier relationship management, supplier performance management, cost savings and productivity, category management, and Procure-to-Pay practices. This individual will also support key functions across the organization with indirect supplier negotiations, sourcing strategies, and cost analysis as needed.

This is a highly visible role that will partner closely with Finance, Manufacturing, Innovation, Quality, Planning, Marketing, and Commercial teams while serving as a strategic leader for supplier relationships and sourcing execution.

The scope and level of ownership across the areas below will vary based on the experience and level of the successful candidate.

What You’ll Own

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

  • Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships that support Spindrift’s long-term quality, service, innovation, and cost objectives.
  • Lead category and supplier strategies, including RFP processes, supplier negotiations, contract execution, and commercial terms management.
  • Identify and execute cost savings, productivity, and value creation initiatives while maintaining supply reliability and product quality.
  • Partner with suppliers to identify innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, market dynamics, commodity trends, and sourcing risks to strengthen procurement strategies and business continuity.
  • Drive sourcing support for innovation projects, reformulations, packaging updates, and new product launches.
  • Support responsible sourcing initiatives aligned with company values and operational goals.

Procurement Excellence

  • Develop and implement category management and supplier relationship management practices, including supplier governance, performance monitoring, benchmarking, and reporting capabilities.
  • Own and advance supplier productivity programs and support the integration of productivity forecasts into corporate budget cycles.
  • Support budgeting and cost planning through spend analysis, market intelligence, and pricing insights.
  • Help establish and evolve company-wide Procure-to-Pay practices, including delegation of authority, contract management, RFP standardization, and related governance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, tools, reporting, and operating models as the business scales.

Leadership & Value Enablement

  • Lead, coach, and develop procurement talent while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented culture.
  • Demonstrate the value of procurement by influencing stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Innovation, Quality, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally to integrate supplier capabilities and innovation into long-term commercialization and new product development.
  • Contribute to long-term sourcing strategies and supplier network planning as the business scales.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and tailor procurement approaches to evolving business needs.
  • At more senior levels, provide broader leadership across procurement strategy, capability building, organizational planning, and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or related supply chain roles, preferably within consumer packaged goods or food and beverage.
  • Candidates considered for more senior levels will bring additional depth of experience leading procurement strategy, teams, complex categories, and/or enterprise-wide capability building.
  • Demonstrated success leading supplier negotiations, contract management, strategic sourcing initiatives, and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience identifying and delivering cost savings, productivity, supplier performance improvements, and procurement process optimization.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience coaching, developing, and empowering teams in a player-coach environment.
  • Experience building or advancing procurement capabilities, processes, tools, governance, or operating models.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to analyze spend, evaluate supplier economics, and make sound business recommendations.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and build credibility across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities and opportunities to build.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; ERP experience, including NetSuite, is a plus.
  • High integrity, high standards, and energized by building.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
