The posting

Hire Resolve is assisting legal organizations in hiring experienced legal professionals for multiple mid–senior level opportunities across a range of practice areas and in-house functions throughout Canada. This is a multi-role hiring campaign intended to attract candidates from private practice and corporate environments, with progression pathways toward senior specialist and leadership roles such as Senior Counsel, Senior Associate, Legal Manager, Head of Legal, Compliance Lead, or Legal Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders and/or clients across operational and strategic matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents (e.g., commercial agreements, vendor/customer contracts, NDAs, service agreements, leases)
  • Support matters across corporate/commercial, employment, regulatory, disputes, compliance, privacy, procurement, governance, or real estate (aligned to experience)
  • Manage outside counsel and service providers, including budgets, timelines, and matter strategy
  • Assist with legal risk assessments and recommend pragmatic mitigations aligned to business objectives
  • Support dispute management, including early case assessment, document preparation, settlement discussions, and litigation oversight where applicable
  • Contribute to compliance programs, internal controls, and policy development, including monitoring regulatory changes and advising on implementation
  • Maintain accurate legal records, contract repositories, and matter documentation, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate information handling
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations) to improve legal processes and decision-making
  • Support governance processes, including board and committee documentation where relevant
  • Mentor junior colleagues and promote consistent professional standards and quality

Requirements

  • Qualifications (role-dependent):
  • LLB/JD (or equivalent) is typically required for lawyer roles
  • Membership in good standing with a provincial/territorial law society (e.g., Law Society of Ontario, Law Society of British Columbia) for counsel/lawyer positions
  • For legal operations, contracts, compliance, or specialist roles: relevant degree/qualification with strong legal experience may be considered
  • Experience: Typically 5–12+ years of progressive legal experience (in-house and/or private practice), aligned to mid–senior level scope
  • Demonstrated capability in one or more areas such as commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment, regulatory, disputes, compliance, privacy, or legal operations
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, stakeholder management, and risk-based judgement
  • Familiarity with relevant tools and systems (where applicable), including document management, contract lifecycle management (CLM), matter management, e-billing, and Microsoft 365
  • Language: Professional fluency in English is required; French is an asset for certain roles (particularly in Québec or national organizations)
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines, work independently, and maintain discretion with sensitive information

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
