Hunter is looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join our fully remote team. This role is about using email, social, channel, and paid to help users reach their a-ha moment in the product, increase usage, and generate revenue.

You’ll be the go-to person for all things lifecycle, owning the strategy and execution of this critical area.

You’ll report to the Head of Marketing, and work alongside a cross-departmental team: Ana (Account Manager), Antonio, Chris (Design), Gio (Head of Customer Success), Istvan (Design), Jeanro, Matt (CEO), Rui (Product Manager), and Ziemek.

Requirements

At Hunter, Marketing is a core part of how we generate brand affinity and revenue.

Hunter sits in a highly-competitive category with increasing noise, but thanks to its lineage as a first mover in 2015, it is an established, trusted brand.

In this role, you'll cut through that noise, joining a team of enthusiastic, highly-skilled marketers who take pride in their role as a caretaker of the brand. The touch points that we have with our users, as a trusted voice in a sea-of-sameness, are critical to growing the loyalty that millions of users have with Hunter.

Your goal is to own the entire lifecycle of our users so that more eyeballs see Hunter, more users find, verify, and send emails using the platform, API, and MCP server, and our brand continues to be the trusted voice in this category.

How marketing works at Hunter

Hunter's marketing has grown from SEO foundations. Over the last two years, more activity in research, content, email marketing, paid media, and affiliates have contributed to incredible growth.

Your task is to work on the onboarding and nurture engine that engages our users to promote our content, convert free users to paid plans, and increase the lifetime value of our users.

In this role, you need deep knowledge of this category, user empathy, and the stakeholder & project management skills to work with the Head of Marketing, Head of Customer Success, Product Manager, and our marketing team to deliver growth measured in free>paid conversion rate, lifetime value, and retention.

You'll walk into an established onboarding and nurture engine, dozens of campaigns, and co-marketing opportunities, and immediately hit the ground running, firstly by reviewing and creating rapid improvements to onboarding and nurturing, before turning your attention to planning and executing critical Q1 campaigns.

Ownership areas include:

  • Email marketing (onboarding, nurturing, retention, win-back, newsletters, and promotional)
  • Cold email marketing
  • Co-marketing with partners
  • Affiliate marketing campaigns
  • Social media
  • Written and video content creation (inc. blogs and webinars)
  • Reporting and insights

What you’ll do:

  • Own the user journey: You'll work cross-department to own the full user journey - from search and account creation, through to converting to a paid plan, increasing usage, and limiting churn - leveraging the full channel mix to engage, educate, and nurture users.
  • Increase free-to-paid conversions: Your core measurement is the ability to convert free user to a paid plan.
  • Establish and improve the nurture engine: You'll build a nurture engine that leverages user-behavior and persona signals to deliver personalized communications that builds brand affinity.
  • Promote content, research, and playbooks: You'll distribute highly-valuable content to help our users be more effective in their outreach, promoting webinars, guides, playbooks, the Outfoxed podcast, and monthly research.
  • Sales enablement: You'll identify users who might need help getting started, maximizing their plan, or with multiple users from their account and proactively engage them to support sales pipeline generation.
  • Channel marketing: You'll manage communications with our affiliate program and support co-marketing activities to engage new partners.
  • Agentic marketing support: You'll proactively develop, own, and continuously improve the use of AI in your workflow using Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

About you:

  • You have at least 5 years experience with a lifecycle marketing role, with proven success in building onboarding and nurturing that contributes to sales pipeline, won revenue, and retention in a PLG model.
  • You have deep empathy of our users and not only understand, but plan around the B2B buying cycle, creating timely, helpful, and motivating communication to our users as they go through their year and all it brings.
  • You take full ownership of the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of lifecycle marketing across the full channel mix, including email, cold email, ads, social, affiliates, and partners.
  • You are highly proficient at managing different projects, processes, and stakeholders (internal and external) to maintain control, communication, and success.
  • You have a curiosity to learn about, and connect challenges to messaging that engages, educates, and motivates increased product usage and brand affinity.
  • You are tech-savvy and a self-starter. we’ll train you on our system and tools, but you should generally be comfortable with technology, including customer.io, a CMS (like Wordpress), Canva, Claude, Planable, Posthog, Linear, and Notion.
  • You are data-driven (quantitative and qualitatively) and use an analytical mind to plan, execute, and experiment on campaigns and conversion rate optimization, employing small-bets to identify growth loops to invest further.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, and integrate these skills into AI workflows.
  • You’re experienced in remote work and feel comfortable working independently, primarily through async communication.
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked with tools like hunter.io, understand this category, and have worked within it or in a related category (e.g. email marketing).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
