The posting

Role overview:

The Manager, Group Communications is responsible for developing and executing ESR's integrated internal and external communications strategy across the Group. The role plays a critical part in enhancing ESR's corporate reputation, strengthening employee engagement, elevating executive visibility, and supporting strategic business priorities – including strategic transactions, capital initiatives, and investor and capital partner engagement – across key markets in Asia-Pacific.

Working closely with senior leadership, the Manager will drive high-impact communications that reinforce ESR's position as a leading Asia-Pacific real asset owner, manager, and developer. The role encompasses corporate communications, media relations, leadership communications, investor and capital partner communications, issues and crisis management, and employee engagement initiatives. The Manager will collaborate closely with the broader Group Marketing and Communications team and be supported by external agencies and partners to deliver across this scope.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leadership to strengthen ESR's corporate reputation and position the company as a leading Asia-Pacific real assets owner and manager, leading executive communications and shaping ESR's strategic narrative.
  • Build ESR's media profile and shape the company's narrative through proactive media relations and a strategic news and thought-leadership pipeline – securing high-quality, agenda-setting coverage in leading business, financial, trade, and technology media outlets – underpinned by strong journalist relationships.
  • Act as a core communications partner on strategic transactions, capital initiatives, and transformation programmes, developing integrated communications strategies, messaging, stakeholder materials, and leadership toolkits that support ESR's business objectives and growth agenda.
  • Develop and enhance ESR's employee communications strategy and internal communications channels – including intranet, newsletters, and video content – to drive engagement, alignment, and culture across a diverse workforce.
  • Support and manage internal and external events – including leadership forums, town halls, and employee engagement activities, as well as investor-related events and industry conferences.
  • Support and contribute to ESR's social media and digital communications strategies and content to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
  • Manage ESR's media monitoring program, assess reputational risks, and coordinate timely responses to issues, incidents, and crisis situations.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and cascade of ESR's communications policies and playbooks, and contribute to issues preparedness and scenario planning, providing senior-level support during sensitive or higher-risk situations.
  • Act as a communications partner to capital partner and investor-facing teams, supporting investor research, messaging frameworks, and content aligned to ESR's strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders, HR, Investor Relations, ESG, and other corporate functions, adapting communications for diverse cultural and linguistic audiences across the region, including Japan, Korea, China, and other key markets, to ensure coordinated and effective stakeholder communications.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging communication technologies to create engaging, data-driven, and impactful communications content and campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, or related communications roles, preferably within real estate, infrastructure, financial services, or other complex multinational organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated internal and external communications strategies at a regional or global level, ideally across Asia-Pacific markets.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities, with the ability to translate complex business topics into compelling communications for diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience managing senior stakeholder relationships, including C-suite executives, and supporting leadership communications and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Experience supporting investor relations, LP communications, or capital markets/transaction communications is an advantage.
  • Excellent understanding of media relations, reputation management, crisis communications, digital communications, and social media best practices, with proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance communications effectiveness.
  • Strong prioritisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage a broad, fast-moving portfolio of communications workstreams and priorities in a matrixed, multi-market organisation.
  • Familiarity with developing or contributing to communications policies, playbooks, and issues/crisis preparedness protocols.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
