Le manutentionnaire – réception et déchargement est responsable de la réception sécuritaire des conteneurs, du déchargement des marchandises à partir des camions et de la préparation des produits pour l’inventaire ou l’entreposage. Ce rôle pratique est essentiel pour assurer des opérations fluides et efficaces au sein du centre de distribution.

Principales responsabilités :

  • Recevoir les conteneurs entrants et vérifier les documents à leur arrivée.
  • Décharger les marchandises des conteneurs en utilisant des techniques et des équipements appropriés.
  • Trier, organiser et empiler les produits sur des palettes ou des chariots.
  • Inspecter les articles afin de détecter tout dommage, manque ou problème de qualité et signaler les écarts au superviseur.
  • Déplacer les marchandises vers les zones de réception ou de préparation désignées à l’aide de transpalettes manuels ou électriques.
  • Maintenir un environnement de travail propre, sécuritaire et bien organisé.
  • Respecter les procédures de sécurité et porter l’équipement de protection individuelle (EPI) en tout temps.
  • Participer aux tâches générales d’entrepôt au besoin (ex. : emballage, nettoyage, gestion des déchets, soutien à l’inventaire).
  • Communiquer efficacement avec les superviseurs et les membres de l’équipe.

Qualifications :

  • Une expérience préalable en entrepôt ou en réception est un atout.
  • Bonne condition physique et capacité à soulever régulièrement jusqu’à 50 lb (23 kg).
  • Fiabilité, ponctualité et aisance dans un environnement de travail rapide.
  • Connaissance de base des pratiques de sécurité en entrepôt.
  • Capacité à suivre des instructions verbales et écrites.
  • Compétences de base en communication en anglais (le français est un atout au Québec).
  • Expérience avec des transpalettes ou d’autres équipements de manutention (un atout).

Conditions de travail :

  • Travail effectué dans un centre de distribution.
  • Nécessite de rester debout, de soulever des charges, de se pencher et d’effectuer des mouvements répétitifs durant le quart de travail.
  • Peut inclure des horaires variables (tôt le matin, le soir ou la fin de semaine).

Position Summary:

The Material Handler – Receiving & Unloading is responsible for safely receiving containers, unloading merchandise from trucks, and preparing goods for inventory, or storage. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming containers and verify documentation upon arrival.
  • Unload goods from containers using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Sort, organize, and stack products onto pallets or carts.
  • Inspect items for damage, shortages, or quality concerns and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Move merchandise to designated receiving or staging areas using manual or electric pallet jacks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as required (e.g., packaging, sweeping, waste disposal, inventory support).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role is an asset.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) consistently.
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse safety practices.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic communication skills in English (French is an asset in Quebec).
  • Experience with pallet jacks or material handling equipment is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a distribution centre environment.
  • Requires standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift.
  • May involve shift work, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
