The posting

Earthy Gourmet, a renown chef personal brand, is scaling two decades of health-education and chef experience into a formal media and education business; a newly launched online course, alongside a podcast, YouTube channel, and Substack now in development. Local When We Can, a specialty food brokerage, has spent 12–15 years building the relationships that connect CPG food brands with retailers such as Walmart, Sprouts, and Trader Joe's, and is now formalizing its operations, including a new CRM in Monday.

This role is being created because marketing has become a shared bottleneck across both businesses. Reliable, strategically-minded marketing talent proved expensive and difficult to sustain in the U.S., and neither business currently has a dedicated resource who can move beyond execution into real ownership of content, digital presence, and buyer-facing materials.

The Marketing Generalist will become the primary marketing partner to both brands, working directly with them rather than through layers of management. This person will own content and channel strategy for Earthy Gourmet's course, podcast, YouTube channel, and Substack, while producing the collateral that supports Local When We Can's retail partnership conversations, bringing enough judgment to guide decisions, not simply execute against a brief.

Success in this role looks like consistent, high-quality content across both brands, marketing materials strong enough to credibly support retail buyer conversations, and a marketing partner who proposes direction rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Who You'll Work With

Rachel — Co-Founder, Operations (LWWC) / Founder (TEG)

Scope: Owns strategy, systems design, financial direction, and original content IP across both entities. Directs staff rather than executing day-to-day administrative or production work.

Responsibilities

  • Design operating systems and workflows; delegate execution and maintenance
  • Manage contractors and staff; set priorities and review output
  • Own partner, vendor, and strategic relationships
  • Develop TEG products and programs (courses, offerings, curriculum)
  • Deliver client-facing speaking and teaching (TEG)
  • Own brand voice and original content IP: videos, educational material, positioning
  • Final approval on published content and outbound communications
  • Own financial decisions, budgets, and pricing
  • Set business strategy and growth direction for both organizations

Tom — Co-Founder, Sales & Partnerships (LWWC)

Scope: Owns revenue generation and all external commercial relationships. Client-facing work only; administrative follow-through is delegated.

Responsibilities

  • Own retailer and customer relationships
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage the broker network
  • Negotiate contracts, commissions, and terms
  • Set territory and account strategy
  • Provide direction to marketing on brand positioning and priority accounts
  • Acquire new brands; lead pitches and closing conversations
  • Represent LWWC at trade shows and industry events

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Production

  • Plan and produce content across both brands from social calendars to video editing for the Earthy Gourmet podcast and YouTube channel, to Substack copy. The expected outcome is a steady content engine that supports the course launch without relying on Rachel or Tom to originate every piece.

Digital & Social Media Management

  • Own day-to-day management of social channels for both brands — posting cadence, community engagement, and channel growth — while supporting the digital promotion of Rachel's course. Success here means channels that grow independently offounder involvement.

Marketing Collateral

  • Design brochures, one-pagers, and presentation materials, particularly the buyer-facing materials Local When We Can uses in retail partnership conversations. These need to be strong enough to stand on their own in a Walmart or Sprouts buyer meeting.

Strategic Marketing Guidance

  • Bring a point of view to Rachel and Tom on positioning, campaign direction, and channel strategy, proactively flagging what isn't working rather than waiting to be asked. This is what distinguishes the role from a purely executional marketing hire.

Operations & Cross-Brand Coordination

  • Maintain marketing records and workflows in the Monday CRM as both businesses formalize their infrastructure, and communicate with the clarity and consistency a fully remote relationship requires.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Non-Negotiables

  • Full bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken, is required. This is a deal breaker, not a preference. Beyond language, the candidate needs marketing experience in consumer/CPG or wellness/health categories, hands-on video editing ability, and a mid-level profile: enough practical experience to advise on strategy, but not a recent graduate and not a senior, leadership-track candidate. Equally important is the ability to work autonomously and remotely without close supervision, and to communicate clearly and consistently — a make-or-break trait in a fully remote relationship.

Strong Plus

  • Experience marketing a founder-led or personal brand — a coach, chef, educator, or course creator — translates directly to Earthy Gourmet's needs. Familiarity with podcast and YouTube production workflows is valuable, as is a personality that is relaxed but structured: comfortable proposing ideas and pushing back when something isn't working.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting a food or CPG brokerage's trade marketing function, newsletter platform experience (Substack or similar), proficiency with design tools like Canva or Adobe, and prior exposure to Monday or a comparable CRM would all shorten the ramp-up period, though none are required.

Benefits

Conditions

  • Independent contractor
  • Remote; candidate based in Latin America (Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Panama, or similar).
  • Fully remote, with reliable overlap for real-time communication.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
