About the Business

Since 1942, Eriez has been more than a company—it’s a catalyst for innovation. Our journey began in the heart of Erie, Pennsylvania, but our impact reverberates across six continents, with our factory in Epping, Victoria. It’s not just the cutting-edge tech; it’s the Eriez spirit. Here’s why we are not your average separation technology powerhouse:

  • Magnetic Magic: Our magnetic separation tech isn’t just science; it’s sorcery. We make metals dance, particles align, and impurities vanish
  • Metal Detectives: Forget Sherlock Holmes; meet our metal detectives. They sniff out hidden treasures in conveyor belts, recycling streams, and mining pits. CSI: Scrapyard Edition
  • Material Maestros: Handling materials isn’t a chore; it’s an art form

Join the Innovation

We are looking for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who enjoys building quality equipment, solving mechanical problems and taking pride in producing work to the highest standard.

If you are someone who enjoys fitting and assembling mechanical equipment more than standing behind a lathe all day, this could be the role you have been looking for.

This is a hands-on workshop position where your primary focus will be the mechanical assembly, fitting and testing of industrial equipment.

You will work from engineering drawings, assemble components to tight tolerances, troubleshoot mechanical issues and help deliver equipment that is used by customers throughout Australia and around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fit, align, and test mechanical components and equipment to meet engineering specifications and drawings and quality standards
  • Install bearings, shafts, gearboxes, motors and drive systems
  • Align and test mechanical assemblies to engineering specifications
  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on workshop machinery, tools, and mechanical systems
  • Perform fault finding and mechanical troubleshooting during assembly
  • Use precision measuring equipment to achieve accurate tolerances
  • Operate workshop machinery including mills, drills and lathes for occasional component modification and repair
  • Maintain safe work practices and accurate records while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

If you are a Mechanical Fitter who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship and wants to be part of a respected engineering manufacturer, we'd love to hear from you. You will ideally have:

  • Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner – Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Turning) (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems relevant to manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to confidently read engineering drawings
  • Strong experience in mechanical assembly and equipment fitting
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances using precision measuring tools and high attention to detail
  • A team player with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety
  • Understanding of Australian Standards for mechanical safety and machinery operation
  • Current High-Risk Work Licence (e.g., forklift, dogging, rigging) – desirable

Apply NOW and tell us 5 reasons why we should hire you.

Benefits

At Eriez, you will join a global leader known for innovation, reliability, and world-class engineering. We offer:

  • A supportive, collaborative team culture
  • Opportunities for professional development

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
