Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine/Nuclear Cardiology
  2. Perform a full range of diagnostic procedures with precision and accuracy
  3. Conduct quality control testing on imaging equipment
  4. Review physician orders for appropriateness
  5. Prepare patients and administer radiopharmaceuticals
  6. Insert IV catheters as required
  7. Acquire and process images using gamma cameras, PACS, and nuclear medicine management systems
  8. Troubleshoot technical and clinical issues
  9. Radiopharmaceutical Preparation
  10. Order, prepare, and calculate doses of radiopharmaceuticals
  11. Manage Tc99m kits and bulk supplies
  12. Ensure quality control and compliance with sterile technique
  13. Radioactive Material Management
  14. Oversee ordering, receiving, distributing, and storage of radioactive materials and waste
  15. Ensure compliance with departmental, hospital, and New York State regulations
  16. Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine
  17. Coordinate with referring offices and radiologists for therapy planning
  18. Ensure all pre-testing and documentation is complete
  19. Administer therapeutic doses safely while following all radiation safety precautions
  20. Mobile Nuclear Cardiology
  21. Travel to physician offices across NY and PA using a mobile gamma camera system
  22. Safely transport, set up, and operate equipment in varied environments
  23. Work independently alongside physicians, nurses, and patients
  24. Patient Care
  25. Provide compassionate, age-appropriate care for neonates through geriatrics
  26. Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout all procedures
  27. Compliance & Education
  28. Participate in accreditation activities and departmental policy compliance
  29. Maintain continuing education credits and required certifications
  30. Attend annual training and educational programs
  31. Customer Service
  32. Demonstrate excellent patient interaction skills by providing care in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner
  33. Support a positive patient experience throughout the diagnostic process

Requirements

  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT
  • Formal 2- or 4-year degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (preferred)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensure
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability
