The posting

An excellent opportunity exists for a Fellowship-qualified Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join a busy O&G department at Northern Territory's premier tertiary referral hospitals. This is a high-impact clinical role offering genuine variety, a collaborative team culture, and the chance to make a real difference to women's health outcomes across a diverse and underserved population.

About the Department

The O&G Department operates within a major tertiary-level public hospital — one of the largest in regional Australia — with over 500 beds and a broad scope of clinical services spanning obstetrics, gynaecology, maternal-fetal medicine, and urogynaecology. The unit manages a high-volume and clinically complex caseload, including a busy labour ward, a dedicated antenatal clinic, and gynaecological oncology support in collaboration with specialist services. The department is well-staffed with a mix of Staff Specialists, Visiting Medical Officers, and Registrars, with strong ties to a structured training program accredited by RANZCOG. You will work alongside a team that is genuinely committed to clinical excellence, cultural safety, and delivering equitable care to one of Australia's most diverse patient populations.

About the Location

Darwin is one of Australia's most unique and captivating cities — a vibrant tropical capital where a laid-back lifestyle meets genuine professional opportunity, and where the sheer scale of the natural environment will leave you continually in awe. The city enjoys a warm tropical climate year-round, with the famous Dry Season offering endless blue skies, golden sunsets over the Timor Sea, and outdoor living at its absolute finest. Darwin's cultural scene is rich and eclectic, reflecting its position as Australia's most multicultural city — with world-class food markets, festivals, and a thriving arts community that punches well above its weight. Adventure is never far away, with Kakadu National Park, Litchfield, and the Mary River wetlands all on your doorstep, offering world-renowned fishing, hiking, and wildlife encounters that are simply unmatched anywhere else in the country. For those seeking a career move that also delivers a genuine lifestyle reset, Darwin offers the rare combination of meaningful, complex clinical work and a pace of life that allows you to truly switch off, recharge, and enjoy everything the Top End has to offer.

  • Fellowship of RANZCOG (FRANZCOG)
  • Eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated experience across the full scope of O&G practice
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Commitment to culturally safe and patient-centred care
  • Experience in or willingness to engage with training and supervision of junior doctors

  • Relocation assistance available
  • Generous leave entitlements including professional development leave
  • CPD support and funding
  • Access to a large, tertiary-level caseload with genuine clinical complexity

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
