The posting

Part-time | 3 days per week | Reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Operations Lead is accountable for the day-to-day running and continuous improvement of Beanstalk's operational engine room, spanning Operational Excellence, People & Culture, Technology, and Finance, across our Australian, South East Asian and South Asian entities. These functions will need to also interface with the company’s Business Development and Marketing and Communications functions.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is an independent, decision-making role rather than a purely administrative one. The Operations Lead is expected to own outcomes end-to-end, surfacing gaps or tensions across functions, prioritising what needs to happen next, building the plan and resolving them. Sound judgement and the confidence to make and stand behind decisions are core to the role, and ensuring that decisions are considered across the organisation’s operating rhythm and systems.

The role is supported by an Operations Support member (direct report, full-time) who helps drive execution, and an Accountant, freeing the Operations Lead to focus on planning, prioritisation and resolving cross-functional issues.

Because the role works across multiple functions and regions, the ideal candidate is highly adaptable - comfortable moving between people and culture, operational execution, technology and accounts, and across different regulatory and cultural contexts. Curiosity and a willingness to upskill quickly are essential, as the breadth of the role means new problems will regularly fall outside existing expertise.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. People, Culture and Impact

  • Lead implementation of the People & Culture Strategy which covers learning & development, recruitment, people management, team culture and impact
  • Own end-to-end talent acquisition processes, including recruitment (campaign management, job postings, interview process management), onboarding and offboarding workflows.
  • Own people management processes such as pulse checks, 1:1 check-ins, organisational effectiveness surveys and 360-degree feedback — synthesising feedback and reporting takeaways to leadership.
  • Lead the operations team to maintain and update organisational policies, workers' compensation and insurance to ensure compliance with funding and regulatory requirements across all regions, and to underpin workplace health and effectiveness.
  • Drive roll-out and maintenance of Impact strategy, including mainstreaming impact monitoring into core activities and working with MarComms on the Annual Impact Report.
  • Engage directly with Leadership and People Managers across Beanstalk to help with implementation of initiatives.

2. Operations

  • Develop, manage and maintain critical data collection across business operations and own and maintain the company scorecard, identifying and resolving gaps as the process matures.
  • Coordinate quarterly State of the Company (SOTC) meetings, and plan and manage quarterly and annual offsite meetings.
  • Own all operational processes and proactively identify operational gaps, tensions or improvements across functions and regions, and drive them to resolution.
  • Take on the majority of day-to-day operational decisions and actions, escalating to the COO only where judgement calls sit outside delegated authority.
  • Direct and develop the Operations Support role, allocating execution work to enable the Operations Lead to focus on planning and problem-solving.

3. Technology

  • Act as the primary point of contact for technology requirements and monitor software licences across the organisation.
  • Manage external technology partners to provide security, smooth onboarding and offboarding, and team troubleshooting
  • Enforce technology structure and guidelines in line with organisational policy.

4. Finance & Accounts

  • Support and coordinate accounts and financial administration processes, working with the company accountant to ensure smooth operations across regions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
