POSITION SUMMARY

RAC is hiring a Data Migration Consultant to execute Oracle HCM data migration workstreams on client implementations. You will build, run, and validate HDL and HSDL data loads across all HCM modules — ensuring accuracy, completeness, and auditability across all migration cycles from initial mock through production cutover.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build HDL data files with full awareness of the business object hierarchy — loading Person, Work Relationship, Assignment, Employment, and dependent objects in the correct sequence across all in-scope HCM modules
  • Design source-to-target field mapping with transformation logic — translating legacy data structures to Oracle HCM attributes, building code conversion tables, and resolving data quality issues at source before they become load failures
  • Execute data loads in development and test environments — reading HDL output logs, distinguishing validation errors from import errors, and resolving failures at root cause rather than working around them
  • Perform data reconciliation at every mock cycle — source row count versus Oracle load count by object, field-level spot checks for high-risk attributes, and business rule validation using Oracle-side OTBI reports
  • Build and maintain data mapping documentation — source-to-target mapping tables with transformation rules, load run logs, error resolution notes, and mock run sign-off reports

Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2–3 years of Oracle HCM or HR system data migration experience with hands-on HDL execution — has submitted HDL files, read the error output, and resolved failures independently
  • Working knowledge of the Oracle HCM worker data model: Person, WorkRelationship, Assignment, and their load dependency sequence
  • Proficiency in Excel for data transformation, field mapping, and code conversion; SQL or Python is an advantage
  • Systematic error resolution approach — does not re-submit a failed load until the root cause is confirmed and corrected
  • Data reconciliation discipline — treats row count and field value validation as mandatory, not optional

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications HCM Process Essentials certified — the foundational HCM credential; the expected starting certification for a Consultant-level role
  • Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud Implementation Professional — working toward this demonstrates that migration work is backed by genuine module understanding, not just file-loading mechanics
  • Python or SQL proficiency for automated transformation scripts and post-load reconciliation queries
  • Experience migrating from a prior HCM platform — PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS HRMS, Workday, or any other system — understanding how legacy data models map to Oracle Cloud's object hierarchy

  • Data documentation discipline — produces mapping documents, load run logs, and reconciliation reports that a client data team can follow without explanation

  • Client data team communication — explains HDL error messages and data quality requirements to non-technical HR data owners clearly and without condescension

  • Quality ownership — treats reconciliation as mandatory, not optional; takes personal accountability for data accuracy at each mock cycle
