Manufacturing Engineer

East Peoria, IL

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in East Peoria, IL. We offer benefits, PTO, 401k, and more! If you're looking to grow your career within an extremely reputable, stable Fortune 100 company - let's talk!

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer provides technical leadership and support for assembly operations involving transmissions, torque converters, final drives, axles, and related drivetrain products. This role serves as a key liaison between Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Change Control, and Maintenance to ensure production requirements are met while maintaining compliance, quality, velocity, and cost objectives. The Manufacturing Engineer supports day-to-day manufacturing line operations, resolves production issues, improves manufacturing processes, and implements solutions that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain manufacturing systems including MESA, CAPP+, SAP, and PINpoint, along with vision systems, pinstampers, torque tooling, and process control systems.
  • Develop and sustain assembly process controls, error-proofing systems, operator work instructions, and process interlocks to drive Built-In-Quality and process stability.
  • Support development and maintenance of routings, system configurations, operational requests, and manufacturing documentation, including PINpoint work instruction updates.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs and Control Plans; investigate and close quality events and implement corrective actions.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, CQMS, and In-Process Validation (IPV) activities, evaluating detection controls and identifying error-proofing opportunities.
  • Improve process capability and ensure manufacturing controls effectively mitigate risk while supporting audit readiness and quality certification requirements.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Improvement (CPI), and capital project activities, including equipment procurement, installation, validation, and launch.
  • Develop capital and expense justifications, support manufacturing readiness activities, and implement lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
  • Lead projects associated with assembly tooling, automation, process controls, layouts, and manufacturing equipment improvements.
  • Introduce and develop new processes for assembly tooling, DC tools, torque systems, PX fixtures, Wireless Mitutoyo gauges, and vision systems, including equipment specifications and installation/validation support.
  • Implement improvements related to safety guarding, ergonomics, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Work documentation and coordinate documentation changes resulting from audits and quality events.
  • Assist in training and knowledge transfer activities for manufacturing engineering and shop floor personnel.
  • Participate in safety risk assessments, operational change reviews, hazard mitigation efforts, ergonomic evaluations, and injury prevention activities.

Team Structure & Work Environment

  • This position works cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Change Control, and Maintenance teams, and requires hands-on presence supporting shop floor assembly operations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
