POSITION SUMMARY

The Post-Harvest Supervisor is responsible for leading all post-harvest operations — including drying, trimming, curing, and packaging — in full compliance with Ohio Division of Cannabis Control (DCC) regulations, Ohio Administrative Code 1301:18, and King City Gardens' internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role ensures that all finished cannabis products meet quality, weight, and labeling standards before vault transfer or distribution, while maintaining accurate METRC seed-to-sale tracking throughout the post-harvest workflow. The Post-Harvest Supervisor directly leads a team of Dry Room Leads, Dry Room Technicians, and Packaging Specialists, serving as the operational link between cultivation and compliance-ready finished goods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Production

• Oversee and coordinate all post-harvest activities, including harvest intake, drying, curing, trimming, and final packaging.

• Set and communicate daily and weekly production targets for dry room and packaging operations.

• Monitor and document environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) in drying and curing environments.

• Ensure all finished products are accurately weighed, labeled, and sealed in compliance with DCC retail packaging requirements.

• Coordinate harvest handoffs from the Cultivation team, verifying batch integrity and METRC tag accuracy at intake.

• Manage vault transfers and ensure product readiness for distribution in coordination with the compliance team.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Directly supervise Dry Room Leads, Dry Room Technicians, and Packaging Specialists across post-harvest operations.

• Conduct onboarding, role-specific training, and ongoing performance coaching for all direct reports.

• Create and manage weekly staffing schedules to align with production volume and regulatory deadlines.

• Facilitate shift handoffs, daily production meetings, and cross-departmental coordination as needed.

• Address performance concerns through documentation and coordination with HR in accordance with company policy.

METRC & Compliance

• Ensure accurate and timely METRC entries for all post-harvest activities including package creation, waste logging, and manifest generation.

• Maintain departmental compliance with Ohio Administrative Code 1301:18, DCC licensing conditions, and King City Gardens' SOPs.

• Prepare records and documentation for state regulatory inspections and internal compliance audits.

• Verify all DCC-required batch numbers, warning labels, and compliance statements on finished product packaging.

• Identify and immediately report any compliance discrepancies to the Compliance Manager.

Quality Control & Sanitation

• Conduct and document quality inspections at each stage of the post-harvest process to ensure product integrity.

• Enforce strict sanitation, PPE, and biosecurity protocols throughout all post-harvest areas.

• Investigate and resolve quality deviations; implement corrective actions and preventive measures.

• Maintain calibration logs for scales and other measurement equipment used in the packaging process.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Eligible to obtain and maintain Ohio DCC cannabis employee credentials prior to start date.

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a cannabis, pharmaceutical, food production, or other regulated manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrated proficiency with METRC seed-to-sale tracking or equivalent cannabis compliance software.

• Strong working knowledge of Ohio DCC regulations and Ohio Administrative Code 1301:18.

• Ability to pass all required background checks per Ohio cannabis licensing requirements.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's degree or vocational certification in agriculture, horticulture, food science, or a related field.

• Prior experience managing post-harvest or dry room operations in a licensed cannabis cultivation facility.

• Experience with cannabis packaging compliance including DCC weight, labeling, and seal requirements.

• Familiarity with ActionPac, automated packaging, or other production line equipment.

• Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the facility for extended periods (8–10 hours).

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.

• Ability to work in controlled environments with variable temperature, humidity, and exposure to cannabis plant material, dust, and odors.

• Use of PPE including gloves, masks, hairnets, and lab coats required at all times in production areas.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
