Lighthouse Games is a AAA studio in Leamington Spa, defined by our pedigree of talent and serious ambition to build a new best-in-class game. When you join us at Lighthouse, you will create the best work of your career within a collaborative, hybrid working environment. You’ll learn from the best and work alongside the future greats of the gaming industry.

As a Principal Vehicle Technical Artist, you will play a leading role in defining the technical vision, systems and workflows that support the creation of our in-game vehicles. Acting as a key bridge between art and engineering, you will identify complex challenges, establish scalable solutions and ensure our Vehicle Art team can deliver industry-leading quality efficiently and consistently.

You will take ownership of the most significant technical challenges across the vehicle pipeline, moving the team away from manual, asset-by-asset fixes towards robust, system-driven solutions. Through technical leadership, collaboration and mentorship, you will raise the capability of the wider team and help establish a vehicle production pipeline that sets a new benchmark for the industry.

Requirements

Extensive experience as a Technical Artist within game development, including experience operating at a Principal, Lead or equivalent level.

Deep understanding of vehicle content, production pipelines and the technical challenges involved in creating high-quality real-time vehicles.

Proven ability to design and implement scalable tools, systems and workflows that deliver measurable improvements across an entire production team.

Expert knowledge of real-time engines, ideally Unreal Engine, alongside a strong understanding of content creation, integration, optimisation and rendering pipelines.

Exceptional problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to define technical strategy and influence artists, engineers and project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Define and drive the technical strategy for vehicle content, pipelines and workflows in partnership with Vehicle Art, Technical Art and Engineering leadership.

Identify and solve complex technical challenges affecting vehicle quality, performance and production efficiency.

Architect and implement scalable systems that resolve issues across multiple vehicles and support the long-term needs of the project.

Lead the development of tools and workflows that enable artists to create, iterate and integrate vehicle content more efficiently.

Establish best practices for vehicle creation, validation, optimisation and integration, reducing reliance on manual fixes.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship across the Vehicle Art team, raising quality, consistency and technical capability.

Desirable

Experience working on vehicle-focused, automotive or racing titles.

Advanced scripting or programming experience using Python, Blueprints, C++ or similar technologies.

Experience architecting and optimising large-scale content pipelines for AAA production.

What we’re looking for

A genuine passion for cars, automotive design and vehicle craftsmanship, supported by the attention to detail required to create exceptional in-game vehicles.

A strategic and collaborative mindset focused on quality, scalability, efficiency and continuous improvement.

A proactive technical leader who takes ownership of complex challenges and wants to push the boundaries of vehicle quality.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
