The posting

We are looking for a skilled and commercially driven Procurement Officer to join the production team of a fast-growing company operating across multiple markets. You will play a key role in ensuring the production facility has a reliable supply of ingredients, packaging, and consumables while maintaining cost efficiency and high supplier standards.

In this role, you will manage the end-to-end procurement process within an agreed budget, from sourcing and onboarding suppliers to negotiating commercial terms and monitoring supplier performance. You will work closely with the kitchen, inventory, receiving, and quality teams to ensure the right materials are available at the right time without compromising quality or food-safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for ingredients, packaging, and production consumables.
  • Source products and suppliers within agreed quality, pricing, and budget requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service levels with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, pricing, and service levels.
  • Manage and resolve supplier issues and escalations related to quality, delays, or availability.
  • Track procurement spend against the facility’s annual budget and flag variances early.
  • Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities without compromising product quality or food-safety standards.
  • Coordinate closely with Inventory and Receiving teams to understand stock levels and incoming delivery requirements.
  • Communicate changes to ingredients, packaging, or suppliers to the relevant kitchen and production teams.
  • Maintain a reliable dual-supplier or backup supplier base for critical ingredients and packaging.
  • Develop procurement plans that reduce supply-chain risks and prevent production disruptions.
  • Lead supplier contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing reviews as the facility and order volumes grow.
  • Work closely with the Quality team on supplier audits, quality agreements, and supplier compliance.
  • Ensure suppliers meet the required food-safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, contracts, and pricing documentation.
  • Prepare and report on procurement spend, savings, supplier performance, and budget utilization to management.

Requirements

  • Saudi national.
  • 5-6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supplier management.
  • Experience in food production, bakery, FMCG, hospitality, or a similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong experience in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and resolve performance issues.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a focus on cost optimization.
  • Comfortable managing procurement budgets, tracking spend, and reporting on variances and savings.
  • Understanding of ingredients, packaging, and consumables used in food production is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supplier quality, food-safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing backup or alternative supplier options for critical products.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers, orders, negotiations, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proactive and commercially minded, with the ability to identify opportunities and solve supply challenges independently.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing production environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
