This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to grow within the commercial electrical industry, with a clear career path toward Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager positions.

Projects may include healthcare facilities, higher education, institutional buildings, manufacturing facilities, industrial sites, and other complex commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial electrical construction projects.
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, transmittals, procurement logs, and other project documentation.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules to identify project requirements and potential issues.
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, general contractors, and internal project stakeholders.
  • Monitor material procurement, equipment deliveries, long-lead items, and project milestones.
  • Assist with scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, billing, and financial reporting.
  • Attend project meetings, site visits, and coordination meetings to monitor progress and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Coordinate with estimating and BIM/VDC teams on constructability, design coordination, material requirements, and installation planning.
  • Maintain accurate project records, meeting minutes, correspondence, drawings, and tracking logs.
  • Assist with material takeoffs, procurement planning, commissioning, punch lists, and project closeout.
  • Identify and communicate potential schedule delays, cost concerns, procurement challenges, and coordination issues.
  • Help ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial construction, project engineering, or electrical construction.
  • Experience working for a commercial electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, construction sequencing, and field operations.
  • Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Comfortable coordinating with field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and project teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Detroit metropolitan area.
  • Experience with healthcare, higher education, institutional, manufacturing, or industrial projects is a plus.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Vehicle allowance, where applicable.
  • Technical training and professional development opportunities.
  • Mentorship from experienced project and field leadership.
  • Clear career path toward Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager positions.
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale commercial electrical projects.
  • Long-term career growth with an established contractor.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
