As part of the Online Education Services (OES) Group, the Online Institute of Higher Education (OIHE) is a registered higher education provider committed to delivering innovative, high-quality online education. OIHE combines academic excellence with industry relevance to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in today's workforce.

The Opportunity: Working for Online Institute of Higher Education (OIHE), this role will report to the CEO. The Quality & Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring OIHE meets its regulatory and governance obligations while driving a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, governance committees and key stakeholders across the organisation, contributing to the effectiveness and integrity of the Institute's compliance, quality assurance and governance framework. We are seeking a highly organised and detailed orientated professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards and supporting the ongoing success of a growing higher education provider.

This is a part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. We are looking for someone that can work 3 or 4 days a week and are open to discuss what will work best for the successful candidate during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating compliance activities aligned with TEQSA requirements and the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF).
  • Supporting provider registration, re-registration and course accreditation activities.
  • Preparing regulatory submissions, reports, notifications and compliance documentation.
  • Managing the Institute's policy framework, including policy reviews, registers and document control processes.
  • Providing secretariat support to the Academic Board and governance committees, including meeting coordination, agenda preparation, minute-taking and action tracking.
  • Maintaining governance records, risk registers and committee documentation.
  • Supporting quality assurance, audit and continuous improvement initiatives across the Institute.

About you:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a compliance, quality assurance or governance secretariat role, ideally within a TEQSA-registered higher education provider or RTO.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021 and TEQSA's regulatory approach.
  • Strong policy writing, records management and risk register maintenance skills.
  • Experience providing secretariat support to a Board or Academic Board, including minute-taking and Terms of Reference administration.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple statutory deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships with academic, governance and operational stakeholders

Why Join us?

As part of the broader OES Group, you'll join a purpose-driven organisation committed to transforming lives through education. This is a rare opportunity to shape the academic direction of a growing higher education provider and influence outcomes that impact students, industry partners and the wider education sector. We offer a flexible, hybrid working model, a collaborative and values-led culture, and a genuine commitment to supporting our people through professional development, wellbeing initiatives, paid parental leave, study assistance, purchased leave and comprehensive employee benefits. Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a high-performing Executive Leadership Team and Academic Board while making a meaningful contribution to the future of higher education.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
