The posting

Phoenix is a leading UK IT solutions and managed service provider, with a deep specialism in the public sector. We work with organisations across government, healthcare, defence, public safety, education, housing, and the charity sector - helping them modernise with confidence across cloud, data and AI, cyber security, and managed services.

Through strategic partnerships with the world's leading technology providers - and a trusted place on the major public sector frameworks - our work has a direct impact on the services that millions of people rely on every day.

Due to continued growth, we are now hiring a Quest Migration Consultant to join our Consultancy team within IT Services, supporting customers with complex Microsoft migration and transformation projects. This role will focus on delivering migration projects across Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments, using Quest technologies to support customer transitions, coexistence and modernisation.

What will you be doing?

  • Deliver migration projects across Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Support the scoping of migration projects, helping define requirements and solution approach.
  • Carry out discovery activities across AD DS and M365 environments.
  • Contribute to the design, planning and delivery of migration solutions.
  • Work across the full project lifecycle, from initial engagement through to delivery and handover.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, quality and customer expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Help develop and improve team processes, standards and ways of working.
  • Share knowledge and support other team members through mentoring and collaboration.
  • Maintain relevant certifications and knowledge required for delivery.

Why should you apply?

At Phoenix, our ambition is to be the UK's leading IT solutions and managed service provider - and we know that only happens because of our people. Culture isn't an afterthought here; it's the thing we work hardest on.

We're proud to be certified as a Great Place to Work®, and to be recognised on their UK Best Workplaces lists for Women, Wellbeing, and Development. These aren't badges we chase - they're the result of how we genuinely choose to treat each other, and how seriously we take our colleagues' careers, health, and lives outside of work.

When you join Phoenix, you can expect:

  • A culture built on trust and belonging: set out clearly in our Culture Blueprint, lived day-to-day, and reflected in our consistently strong colleague feedback.
  • Real investment in your development: structured learning pathways, funded industry certifications, mentoring, and the encouragement to stretch into new areas.
  • A workplace that takes wellbeing seriously: from mental health support and flexible working to active employee networks and a leadership team that listens.
  • A commitment to equity and inclusion: where we actively work to make Phoenix a brilliant place to build a career, whoever you are.
  • Work that matters: supporting the public sector organisations that keep the UK running, from government and healthcare to defence, public safety, education, housing, and the charities serving the most vulnerable in our communities.
  • Working with the best of the industry: alongside genuine experts, and with strategic partnerships across the world's leading technology providers, you'll be at the front of the conversations shaping how UK public services modernise.

We believe in encouraging, supporting, and skilling our people up so that you can be the very best you can be at work - and we'd love you to consider being part of it.

Take a look at our Culture Blueprint to get a real sense of who we are.

What are we looking for?

The right person for this role will have experience in a similar consultancy role where you have exposure to the full project lifecycle from initial scoping & pre-sales through to discovery, implementation, delivery and project handover.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering Active Directory (AD DS) cross-forest and cross-domain migrations, managing the full project lifecycle from discovery and design through to migration, coexistence and post-migration support.
  • Extensive experience delivering Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations, including planning, stakeholder engagement, technical implementation, cutover management and user adoption activities.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Quest migration technologies, particularly Quest ODM AD, Quest ODM 365 and Quest Domain Move (including Email Rewrite Service), or equivalent migration platforms such as Binary Tree Power365 and Quest Migration Manager.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid identity environments, including Entra Connect synchronisation, identity coexistence and supported migration topologies.
  • Solid understanding of core Microsoft workloads, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Teams, with the ability to support and migrate these services effectively.
  • Experience planning and delivering large-scale migration, merger, acquisition, divestiture and organisational transformation projects, often within complex, multi-domain or multi-tenant environments.
  • Ability to design and execute SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams migration strategies, including discovery, data analysis, remediation, rationalisation and migration of legacy file shares to modern collaboration platforms.
  • Experience with native Microsoft migration technologies, including Hybrid Exchange, Remote Move Requests and cloud onboarding solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure, networking fundamentals and hybrid environments, ensuring successful integration between on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with ShareGate, SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) and other migration and reporting solutions, with additional experience of Quest products such as RMAD, Change Auditor and Enterprise Reporter being advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, handle complex technical challenges, meet aggressive delivery timescales and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills, combined with a proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative delivery team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
