Delphi Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a growing children's residential care provider

Delphi Care Solutions is delighted to be supporting the recruitment of an experienced Registered Manager for a children's residential home.

This is an opportunity for a strong leader who wants more than responsibility for compliance and day-to-day operations. It is an opportunity to lead a home, develop a team, shape culture, and ensure children receive the stability, care, and support they deserve.

Our client is committed to providing safe, nurturing, and high-quality residential care for children and young people. They recognise that successful homes are built by strong leadership, consistent practice, effective safeguarding, and teams that genuinely understand the needs of the children in their care.

As Registered Manager, you will play a central role in driving standards, supporting staff, and ensuring children experience a home where they feel safe, valued, listened to, and supported to make progress.

The Opportunity

This role would suit either:

  • An experienced Registered Manager seeking a fresh challenge with a quality-focused provider, or
  • An ambitious Deputy Manager who meets the regulatory requirements and is ready to take the next step in their career.

You will have responsibility for the overall leadership and management of the home, ensuring it operates in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, safeguarding requirements, and the home's Statement of Purpose.

Working alongside senior leaders, you will have the autonomy to lead your service while receiving the support required to succeed.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Creating a Positive Home Environment

  • Developing a culture where children feel safe, respected, and supported.
  • Ensuring children receive individualised care that reflects their needs and circumstances.
  • Promoting positive relationships, stability, and meaningful experiences.
  • Ensuring children's wishes, feelings, and views influence daily practice and decision-making.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Leading and developing a residential childcare team.
  • Providing regular supervision, guidance, and support.
  • Promoting accountability, consistency, and high professional standards.
  • Managing performance effectively and addressing concerns when required.
  • Creating a positive and supportive team culture focused on achieving the best outcomes for children.

Safeguarding & Child Protection

  • Maintaining a strong safeguarding culture throughout the home.
  • Ensuring safeguarding concerns are identified, managed, and escalated appropriately.
  • Overseeing incidents, allegations, complaints, and significant events.
  • Working closely with local authorities, safeguarding partners, and external professionals.
  • Ensuring children are protected from harm and receive appropriate support.

Quality, Compliance & Ofsted

  • Leading the home in accordance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing for and leading Ofsted inspections.
  • Completing and overseeing quality assurance processes.
  • Managing Regulation 40 notifications, Regulation 44 actions, and Regulation 45 reviews.
  • Driving continuous improvement across the service.

Care Planning & Outcomes

  • Maintaining oversight of care plans, placement plans, and risk assessments.
  • Monitoring children's progress and development.
  • Promoting education, health, wellbeing, and independence.
  • Ensuring children have access to appropriate support and services.
  • Working collaboratively with professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong leadership with sound judgement, excellent safeguarding knowledge, and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
  • Ability to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
  • At least two years' experience within the last five years in a role relevant to residential childcare.
  • At least one year's experience supervising or managing staff.
  • Strong safeguarding and child protection experience.
  • Knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Experience managing risk, incidents, care planning, and staff performance.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Previous Registered Manager experience.
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections.
  • Experience of achieving Good or Outstanding inspection outcomes.
  • Experience leading service improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Additional leadership, safeguarding, or trauma-informed practice training.

What Our Client Is Looking For

  • A visible and credible leader.
  • Someone who leads by example.
  • A manager who is organised, resilient, and accountable.
  • A professional who can support, develop, and challenge staff when required.
  • Someone who can balance the needs of children, staff, and the service effectively.
  • A strong decision-maker with excellent communication skills.
  • A manager who is never afraid to put children's welfare first.

What's on Offer

  • £55,000 - £70,000 basic salary DOE
  • Performance-related bonus scheme
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Supportive and experienced senior leadership team
  • Opportunities for career progression

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
