The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to food preparation and cooking, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. You will collaborate closely with our kitchen staff to ensure that all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards. Furthermore, the Restaurant Cook will play a crucial role in maintaining inventory, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and readily available for service. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards set by The Old Saloon.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations and storage areas.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely manner for service during peak hours.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management of necessary reorders.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective service during busy periods.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new kitchen staff as needed.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar culinary role.
  • Solid knowledge of cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality food preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
