We are looking for an experienced Retail Technology Delivery Lead to drive technology delivery across modern Point of Sale (POS) systems, system integrations, and Master Data Management (MDM). The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise, retail technology knowledge, project delivery capabilities, and team leadership skills to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure retail technology solutions.

This role requires extensive experience with retail POS platforms, a strong understanding of POS transactions, and hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL). The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and consistency of master data across POS and ePOS systems while supporting technology innovation and seamless integration of third-party digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end technology delivery for modern retail POS systems, system integrations, and Master Data Management solutions.
  • Act as the primary operational lead for POS and MDM technology platforms, ensuring stability, reliability, and business continuity.
  • Ensure master data accuracy, consistency, and availability across POS and ePOS systems at all times.
  • Optimise master data processing and synchronisation timelines across retail stores.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Integrate third-party digital tools and software platforms to enhance customer experience and retail operations.
  • Review technical designs, documentation, and project deliverables to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with business and project teams to clarify requirements, dependencies, use cases, and implementation priorities.
  • Identify, assess, and manage technical risks, project dependencies, and delivery challenges.
  • Resolve operational and implementation issues by coordinating with engineering, business, support, and vendor teams.
  • Support product implementation, deployment, testing, and operationalisation of retail technology solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve availability, manageability, scalability, and transaction efficiency.
  • Prioritise work effectively and ensure delivery against critical project milestones in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mentor and coach team members, provide technical guidance, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, project reports, and implementation plans.
  • Drive technology improvements and innovation to address evolving business requirements.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience, with substantial experience delivering retail technology solutions.
  • Proven experience implementing, managing, or supporting retail POS and ePOS systems.
  • Strong understanding of POS transactions, retail workflows, and store-level technology operations.
  • Hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and database-related operations.
  • Experience with Master Data Management, data synchronisation, and maintaining data consistency across retail systems.
  • Understanding of system integration and third-party digital platform implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of solution design principles, system reliability, availability, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Experience managing technical deliverables, project dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
  • Strong technical documentation, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, provide technical guidance, and drive delivery excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and operational standards.
  • A postgraduate qualification or an engineering degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
