Our Commercial Building Services team provides businesses with access to a wide range of specialty services, helping clients simplify facility management by working with one trusted partner.

We are looking for a driven, relationship-focused Sales Executive – Commercial Building Services to join our growing team.

This is a true new-business B2B sales role focused on identifying opportunities for commercial building services, developing relationships with decision-makers, conducting onsite assessments, presenting solutions, and securing new business.

Position Overview

The Sales Executive – Commercial Building Services is responsible for generating new business within an assigned territory by identifying opportunities for City Wide's commercial building and specialty services.

This role will work with a variety of commercial clients, including property managers, facility managers, construction companies, business owners, and other decision-makers. In addition to generating sales, this position will help identify, recruit, and support the onboarding of qualified independent contractors needed to service new opportunities.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, comfortable prospecting, and energized by building relationships and creating new business opportunities.

What You'll Do

Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new commercial building service opportunities within your assigned territory.
  • Identify prospective clients through proactive B2B prospecting, including cold calling, email outreach, networking, and in-person/foot canvassing.
  • Build relationships with property managers, construction companies, facility managers, business owners, and key industry contacts.
  • Identify client needs and determine which City Wide services can provide the right solution.
  • Conduct onsite building surveys and assessments.
  • Develop and present customized proposals based on each prospect's needs.
  • Build rapport with prospects, overcome objections, negotiate, and close new business.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to incoming requests for information.
  • Maintain knowledge of the commercial building maintenance industry, competitive landscape, services, and pricing.

Commercial Building Services

  • Develop opportunities for a variety of commercial building and specialty services.
  • Work with clients to understand facility needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Create sales strategies and presentations tailored to each prospect and their facility.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure proposed services can be successfully delivered.
  • Identify additional service opportunities within existing and prospective client relationships.

Contractor Development & Operations

  • Identify potential independent contractors who can support new Commercial Building Services opportunities.
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding qualified independent contractors when needed.
  • Communicate regularly with Sales and Operations to coordinate new opportunities and service needs.
  • Help ensure the right resources are available to successfully launch new business.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, prospects, coworkers, leadership, and independent contractors.

CRM & Sales Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect and opportunity information in the CRM.
  • Document prospect interactions, sales activities, proposals, and follow-up.
  • Manage multiple opportunities while staying organized and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate regularly with Sales and Operations leadership regarding opportunities, challenges, and strategy.
  • Use sound judgment and discretion when developing sales strategies and handling confidential information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent outside sales experience.
  • B2B outside sales experience preferred.
  • Experience prospecting for new business through cold calling, networking, or in-person outreach.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with prospects and influence decision-makers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with strong judgment and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, margins, and pricing components accurately.
  • Ability to prepare professional reports, correspondence, proposals, and presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, email, and other business technology.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Sales and Operations.
  • Comfortable working with a variety of personalities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude when working with clients, prospects, contractors, and coworkers.

This is an active outside sales position that requires regular travel throughout your assigned territory.

You may work in a variety of commercial environments, including:

  • Office buildings

  • Protected Territory: Build and grow relationships within your assigned territory.
  • Expense & Entertainment Account: Resources to support prospecting, networking, and client relationships.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
