About the Role

The Landmark Group is looking for a confident, motivated, and results-driven Sales Manager to join our growing team.

This is a sales-focused position for someone who knows how to build relationships, identify opportunities, develop proposals, follow up with clients, and close the sale.

The successful candidate will manage opportunities from the initial lead through to the sale. This includes responding to incoming inquiries, meeting with clients, walking properties, understanding their needs, identifying opportunities, preparing pricing and proposals, following up, and ultimately winning the work.

The opportunities you identify and sell may include landscape enhancements, maintenance services, Christmas décor and lighting, upgrades, additional installations, and design/build projects.

Our design team will continue to handle much of the technical design/build sales process. However, the Sales Manager will be expected to recognize design/build opportunities, build the client relationship, understand the customer's needs, and bring the design team into the process when their expertise is required.

We use AI-assisted tools to help identify and match applicants to our open roles. This may include reviewing resumes and suggesting potential matches. All final hiring decisions are made by humans.

Who We Are

The Landmark Group is an established landscaping company committed to providing high-quality landscape services and exceptional customer experiences.

We take pride in our work, our relationships with our clients, and the people who make up our team. As our company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced sales professional who can help us identify new opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and drive revenue growth.

What You Will Do

  • Respond promptly to incoming leads and customer inquiries.
  • Meet with prospective and existing clients to understand their needs and objectives.
  • Walk properties and identify opportunities for additional work and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with residential and commercial clients.
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities across our range of services, including:
  • Landscape enhancements
  • Landscape maintenance
  • Seasonal services
  • Christmas décor and lighting
  • Additional installations and upgrades
  • Design/build opportunities
  • Other services that meet client needs
  • Prepare pricing, estimates, proposals, and sales presentations.
  • Present recommendations and proposals to clients in a professional and compelling manner.
  • Follow up consistently with leads, proposals, and prospective customers.
  • Negotiate with clients and confidently ask for the sale.
  • Close new business and achieve established sales targets.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients.
  • Recognize design/build opportunities and involve the design team when technical expertise is required.
  • Work closely with the design, estimating, operations, and management teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to project completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, sales activities, and client interactions.
  • Proactively develop new business and build a strong pipeline of potential customers.
  • Represent The Landmark Group professionally in the field and in all client interactions.
  • Provide feedback and ideas that can help improve the company's sales process and grow revenue.
  • Take ownership of the sales process from lead generation through to closing.

What Success Looks Like

  • Identify additional opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Develop strong, long-term client relationships.

  • Consistently follow up and move opportunities forward.
  • Work effectively with the design and operations teams.
  • Most importantly, close the work.

  • A proven ability to generate business, develop relationships, and close sales.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process from initial lead through to closing, including experience responding to RFPs as part of the sales process.
  • Experience driving account growth through client retention, upselling, cross-selling, and identifying additional services customers may need.
  • Experience developing referral relationships to generate new business opportunities.
  • Experience with CRM systems, estimating or proposal software, and standard sales tools, including Excel.
  • Experience conducting professional client meetings, building relationships, and communicating confidently with customers to understand needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally in front of decision-makers.

  • Experience in landscaping, landscape maintenance, horticulture, construction, property maintenance, commercial property services, facility services, exterior construction, home improvement, design/build, seasonal services, or commercial services is strongly preferred.
  • A track record of closing business and achieving measurable sales results, such as generated revenue, increased sales, secured new clients, expanded accounts, or increased customer spend, is preferred.
  • Experience visiting customer properties, conducting site visits, inspecting properties, and identifying additional work opportunities in the field is preferred.
  • Experience leading sales teams through coaching, training, target setting, pipeline reviews, territory planning, or sales strategy is a plus.
  • Experience recruiting sales staff or managing sales performance is a plus.
  • Experience working with contractors, property managers, homeowners, or commercial clients during project assessment or sales discussions is a plus.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of 90k-110K per year, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Company vehicle.
  • Health and dental benefits.
  • Year-round, full-time employment.
  • Professional development and career advancement opportunities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
