The posting

Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for an SAP Architect for one of our partners, an IT Services and IT Consulting company.

THE ROLE

The SAP Architect shapes, designs and guides the delivery of SAP and SAP connected solutions across Finance, Procurement, Human Capital Management, Supply Chain and Asset Management. The role covers the full SAP estate, including S/4HANA, BTP, Ariba, SuccessFactors and Business Data Cloud, and extends into the cloud, integration, data and application platforms SAP connects with. You’ll own solution architecture from concept through implementation and hypercare, identify where Agentic and Generative AI can deliver measurable value, and act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders up to VP and C suite level.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Define and own the SAP solution roadmap and target state architecture across business domains, aligned with business strategy and the evolution of S/4HANA and RISE with SAP
  • Build short and long term domain roadmaps with clear transition architectures that modernise capabilities and simplify the legacy estate
  • Shape business cases, identify value drivers and assess the SAP licensing and consumption impact of each architecture option
  • Own end to end solution design covering business processes, integrations, extensions (BTP, Fiori, clean core extensibility), data, security and non functional requirements
  • Act as the technical authority for delivery teams and system integrators through build, testing, data migration and cutover
  • Design integration between SAP and non SAP platforms using API led, event driven and middleware patterns such as SAP Integration Suite and Azure Integration Services
  • Define migration and data strategies (greenfield, brownfield or selective data transition) with a focus on data quality and minimal business disruption
  • Set and enforce SAP and integration architecture principles, standards, guardrails and reference architectures, including clean core guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, responsible AI and the organisation’s Well Architected Framework
  • Present architecture options, trade offs, risks and investment recommendations to senior leadership and governance forums, and drive them to decisions
  • Identify and shape Agentic and Generative AI use cases such as intelligent document processing, copilots and predictive insights using SAP Business AI, Joule, SAP AI Core and Azure OpenAI
  • Lead proofs of concept and move successful AI pilots into production with the right data, security and governance controls
  • Mentor solution designers and technical leads, and promote reuse of components, services and proven design patterns

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 10+ years in solution and technology architecture, including multiple full lifecycle SAP implementations (S/4HANA preferred) delivered in a senior architecture role through go live and hypercare
  • Broad, cross functional SAP expertise across several domains such as Finance, Ariba, SuccessFactors, Supply Chain, Asset Management and Analytics, rather than a single module specialism
  • Strong knowledge of S/4HANA architecture, clean core principles, extensibility options and SAP BTP services
  • Hands on data migration experience using tools such as S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, SAP Data Services or DMLT
  • Familiarity with RISE with SAP and cloud deployment models, ideally on Microsoft Azure, plus a solid grasp of SAP licensing (user based licensing, BTP credits, cloud consumption units)
  • Solid understanding of technology beyond SAP: cloud platforms (Azure preferred), integration middleware, data and analytics, identity and security, DevOps and modern application development
  • Expertise in API led, event driven and microservices integration, with hands on experience integrating SAP with non SAP systems
  • Experience with TOGAF or an equivalent framework, and with designing for mission critical, high transaction environments
  • Practical understanding of LLMs, retrieval augmented generation and AI agents; experience delivering AI enabled business solutions is strongly preferred
  • Experience across agile (SAFe, Scrum) and waterfall delivery, and in directing system integrators and vendor teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant advanced degree (mandatory)
  • Certifications in TOGAF, SAFe Architect, SAP (S/4HANA, BTP or architecture track), Azure Solutions Architect or AI are an advantage
