The posting

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with a Florida PE license to lead electrical design execution for commercial high-rise and complex building projects within an MEP engineering environment, with direct ownership of technical design and project deliverables. The role will support high-rise offices, condominiums, hotels, municipal facilities, airports, industrial buildings, and other complex facilities requiring coordinated electrical and MEP systems. This position is intended for an experienced engineer who can independently produce and review electrical designs while providing senior-level technical direction throughout project delivery. This is a full-time, in-office position in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and local candidates currently working for MEP firms are strongly preferred. Feller Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering and design for high-rise commercial buildings, condominiums, hotels, and other complex facilities.
  • Develop, review, and approve electrical construction documents, drawings, calculations, specifications, and design packages.
  • Use Revit and AutoCAD extensively to develop and maintain coordinated electrical design documentation.
  • Perform and review electrical load calculations, equipment selections, distribution layouts, and system designs.
  • Provide technical direction on electrical design issues and resolve conflicts across architectural and MEP disciplines.
  • Review electrical documents for code compliance, technical accuracy, constructability, and coordination before project issuance.
  • Interface with internal engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to drive technically sound design solutions.
  • Support projects through construction documentation and address technical questions, revisions, and design changes.
  • Apply professional engineering judgment and Florida PE credentials to assigned project work and deliverables.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of electrical engineering and building design experience within an MEP consulting environment.
  • Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Direct experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings or other complex commercial projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD, including production and review of electrical construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical building systems, applicable codes, engineering standards, and design practices.
  • Experience with commercial projects such as high-rise offices, condominiums, hotels, airports, industrial facilities, or similar complex structures.
  • Must have direct ownership of electrical engineering and design deliverables rather than primarily serving in a coordination or support capacity.
  • Local South Florida MEP firm experience strongly preferred; candidates without meaningful commercial/high-rise design experience will not be a fit.

Benefits

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.

Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
